- Good Visit I don't know why there are such negative comments. I have stayed here 4 times and am staying here again in August. Sure there are better rooms, but what do you expect for the price? The last time I had a wonderful room and the shampoo and soaps were from Bath and Body Works and I loved them. The casino is my favorite in town, and when we stay my boyfriend rarely leaves except to eat. I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but to me I love it.

- Bad Visit Ok ... I go to Las Vegas atleast 1 time a year and I akways stay downtown. I have been to many hotels/casinos on Freemont Street and Binion's is BY FAR the WORST one that I have stayed at so far!!! The first day we were there, we were woke up at 6am from this loud gurggling noise from the bathroom. When we went in the sink was spitting up all this nasty black goo and it had overflowed into the room, soaking the carpeting and leaving this aweful stench in the room!!! I called to the front desk and they told me it would be a couple of hours before someone could come up. I had to yell at the person before they would send someone up quicker. We had to leave the room for about 5 hours so they could fix/dry the floor!!! The manager offered us a $5 coupon for food in their diner!!!! HOW NICE WAS THAT!?!?! Boy I was so fortunate to have been offered $5!!! I wanted to spit in his face after displacing us at 6am. The workers were ALL so rude and inconsiderate. Everytime I had to deal with anyone that worked there I got nasty attitude. When Binions got shut down a while back, they should have left it closed for good. They have no idea what constitutes GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE.

- Undecided This place should be on the implosion "hit-list".
No valet, spooky garage and a filthy garage elevator area. This place has been in a downward spiral ever since Jack Binion left. It's a shame as this was once the place to play. Benny Binion made millions offering low table minumums, high odds, cheap food and beverages etc. Other than it's history and nostalgia, there's no reason to even step foot in the place.

I have never stayed there and don't plan to but if you want a place to go with your buddies and play low limits tables and party.....go here. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the booze couldn't flow any faster. The dealers are brutal(as a matter of fact we had three that didn't even as much as talk) but it has a different feel than the strip and not nearly as intimidating. We'll certainly go back to gamble and party.

- Undecided Not sure what to say. This has been my "emergency" hotel for the last 2 visits to Vegas. we stayed in Imperial Palace for 4 nights and then decided to stay an extra day. IP wanted %$109 for the nights..so did every other hotel on the strip; Downtown everything was sold out exept for Binions. Costs $49.99 per nights. Not too bad unless you want to pay the same and stay in one of those creepy looking motels in the middle of nowhere. We chose to Stay in a large hotel.
Rooms are poorely decorated, they had pre-historic TV sets. I only slept there..didnt stayed in the room. Didnt even take a showed in the room. Didnt trust the shower and the water color :)
Bed was hard as a rock. Called for extra blankets as AC would not shut off. never got any. used my Players card and got 30 cents off the "steak" special for $4.99 . BTW that could be a costly mistake to eat that steak. Not sure if it was the meat that made me sick or the sick looking corn that came with it.
will stay there when and if everything else is sold out and have no other choice.

- Bad Visit If you are looking for a marginally acceptable hotel, this is not it. Binion's is a good place for derelict old men, only. Don't be tempted to use the bathroom right next to the check-in desk, as the one in the Greyhound bus depot will be much cleaner. The rooms are interesting. Our room had a small gas chamber for a bathroom. I must give them credit for being handicap friendly, but it's bring your own squeegee, as everything drains to the center of the room. This is if you get one of the better rooms in the "new" tower. There is also an "historic" old tower, fresh with the nastiest old men's hotel feel, smell, and well-worn look. If you are interested in a rent-by-the-week feel, go for it. Big hunks of plaster falling off the ceiling, stains galore, pungent odor, you have a good shot at getting stuck in the elevator all night kind of stuff. Good luck and enjoy. Really, I am not exaggerating.

- Bad Visit Don't do it!! Don't stay at Binions. Don't let all that wood in the casino fool you. The rooms are old and beaten up, not historic or quaint. I reserved a room on Vegas.com for 2 nights--a grand total of $161.00. I stayed downtown because I had tickets to see Tony Bennett across the street at the Golden Nugget. I thought it would be a good idea to save on the hotel since the tix were so expensive. Bad idea. Take my advice and don't go on the cheap, just cut your vist short if necessary and stay at the Nugget. There is a reason why 80% of the people say they would not return to Binion's. Don't go even if they pay you to stay. If you do make the mistake of booking your non-refundable room at Binion's through Vegas.com or some other internet outlet, make sure you ask for a room in the "new" tower when you arrive. I guarantee you will not like t other tower, unless you have lost your sense of smell, hearing, sight, or touch. The stench, the stains, of questionable origin, the shaky elevator, the flaking drywall, etc.--historic, yes. Once in the "new" tower, you will be OK as long as you are lucky enough to get a room with an A/C. And if you don't mind sitting down on a vinyl-coated bench to take a shower, you might like the bathroom OK. There is one central drain in the middle for everything, no aim required, in case you can't make it to the toilet. Be prepared to use every towel they have provided to keep your room from flooding after your shower as there is no tub, no ledge, no bathmat, no nothing to contain water. Don't make the mistake of tossing your clothes on the floor and jumping in as the entire bathroom floor is under water by the time you get out. Make sure you really like your bedmate as we got one full instead of two queens. Also, bring your own sleeping bag or comforter as I cannot describe what was stuck to theirs, or the blanket, other than that is was crusty. After the Tony Bennett show (which by the way was great), we ate some of their "best Chinese food in downtown" at the basement restaurant, which is open all night. Do not order the Szechuan tofu. Just don't do it. And avoid the bathrooms adjacent to the basement restaurant unless you are prepared to clean up some Fremont Street cheer before you enter your stall. This is not a good place to spend your honeymoon.

- Good Visit I stayed at the Plaza hotel but did a lot of playing here. There's a nice selection of table games with minimums from $3.00 and up. Staff and dealers were friendly and helpful when asked a question. Played a lot of hours of blackjack and pai-gow poker. One of the few pai-gow tables in vegas where you can play 2 hands! It's a $5 game and you have to play $10 if you play 2 hands. The coffee shop there in the basement is one of the best I have ever been to. Good selection and prices. Always a good croud there and never had to wait long for a table. Fantastic early morning breakfast specials like $2.99 steak and eggs and some $1.99 specials as well . Next time I'll check out the steak house. Not a big beef eater but they have other entre's as well. All comps here are now issued through a kiosk and not the gaming pits. Just hand your card to the cashier before being seated and she can tell you what your total comp dollars are. My next trip to Vegas(in March) I'm going to book a room here .

- Bad Visit Binions used to be a destination of choice. The steak house was out of this worls and the "old vegas flair" made you want to support it. The hotel has consistently gone down hill. Back in 1997/98/99 it still had the service and charm that would make you want to return. Those days are gone. It's dark and run-down.

- Undecided Stay 05/05 - Very interesting.. This hotel is not for everybody. If you don't plan on spending anytime in your room and are more liable to spend ten hours straight playing craps/poker this may be the place for you. I actually stayed here twice over a two month period. It was cheap at $39 a night each time. I would rate it a value, but not an exceptional value. You get what you pay for. I was paying for location. Maybe you can do better by the Nugget or another downtown locale. Vacation time is precious for many - on both occasions for me I was the accidental tourist and was trying to minimize expenditure on a room.
Room - Wow.. this was trippy. One room during a stay was in a isolated wing of the hotel down snaking and winding narrow hallways on the third floor. At one point I wandered down the wrong hallway and ended up in a service hallway. It was like diving into the belly of the beast. The room directly faced the Fremont street Experience. In fact if I opened up my tinted windows I was able to step out onto the backside of the screen if I so desired. It was evident that as the room was in an undesirable area no effort was taken on the interior. Why waste your time if someone is only going to complain about the street noise I figure? The bed was a very creaky old double - the dresser and bedside table were barely still standing. Everything looked like it was from the mid-70s. The room had the feel of a very seedy motel. I paid $39 for the room and had no prior reservation - I called the hotel and said "hey I'm stranded in Vegas - I like your hotel" so you got to give them some credit. The previous occasion I stayed in a non-descript room on the seventh floor room overlooking various air conditioning ducts. The room had a superficial clean feel to it. On both occasions I spent very little time in the rooms. In retrospect the so-so rooms were a good incentive to do more.
Gaming- went to Golden Nugget for poker - Four Queens for craps. The legendary
poker area at Binions was smaller than I expected and really nothing that wowed you. It was so darkly lit you would have to squint to get around. Check in was right by the poker "rooms". Staff was courteous but in no particular hurry.
The "sketchy" Vegas experience. If you plan on sleeping 3 hours or less go for it!

- Bad Visit Man where to start. Well, it was downtown so the location was great. Other than that forget it. Our room was on the 14th floor, going in the room it didnt seem too bad. At least from what I was expecting after reading the reviews on this site. The carpet was wore out and had waves in it. The room was cool, so at least we knew the AC worked. There was a loud dripping noise, we looked around and it was the AC dripping into the closet onto the carpet. I took a plastic cup and put it under the drip, it filled up in about 2 hours, we put the trash can under it so it didnt fill up so fast. The next morning we had the trash bag on the floor next to the dresser and the trash can under the AC collecting the drips. We left for the day and when we came back the maid had been through. Well she didnt take the the trash or empty the water in the trash can, still nothing to bitch about. The TV was made in 1989 and would not stay on more than 5 min without turning itself off, but who is going to be in front of the tv while in vegas. The elevator to the parking garage broke on Saturday night. We had a rental car, and unless we wanted to use the valet we had to park on the 4th or 5th floor of the parking garage with no elevator. So if we wanted to drive anywhere it was up and down 5 flights of stairs. I got home Sunday night, I was going to send a nasty email about my stay, but guess what, there is no contact info on their website. Now thats a shocker, LOL. The were not expecting a top flight room, however we were not expecting a room from hell.

I had to visit Binions on my latest stay in Vegas. It was sad. The place is dirty, dark and looks like it's dying. It doesn't appear Harrahs has done anything to improve the place nor does it appear that they plan to. I played a dollar slot hoping to get a Binion's Horeshoe Token for history. Harrahs has replaced the dollar tokens with their own. However, you can't use your Harrahs card at Binions.
This is a truly legendary hotel/casino and I hope that someone will take it over and turn in into a viable casino or in the worst case a museum. It is a piece of history that should be kept for the future.
Sadly, it is now reminiscent of a funeral parlor.

ive been to the shoe 3x before and 2x after the change. casino and food visits only. it is still in decline. WHY? just because the heroin addicted son OD'ed there? the new management (harrahs) is still great on their strip location, but they have turned a legend sour. they need to upgrade the service, food, rooms, & attitude! the casino is much more roomy thanks to the management plan to remove the best slots in favor of WHAT? there were no more table games than before the change. this is not poker heaven anymore except on TV. i took a picture of my wife next to a big slot machine. the casino natzi's were there in a heartbeat wanting my film because i broke the law on pictures in a casino. thats the 1st time that has ever happened to me and i have pictures from all over vegas casinos. they didnt get my film nor any future business from me! how sad. walk away!!!!

- Undecided We stayed at Binion's Horseshoe on July 6, 2004 because we received a special coupon in the mail with a special rate of $14 a night. Since we had guests visiting, we decided to extend our stay and extra day and stay at Binions. We stayed in a suite at Bally's the first night and we knew we would not have the same quality room at Binions. However, since Harrahs had taken over Binions, we thought we couldn't go wrong.
The girl when we checked in was not at all friendly or accomodating. I asked her if we had a nice room and her comment was "Its a room". I felt as if we were keeping her from something she would rather be doing. She gave us our keycards but neglected to give us any directions to our rooms. After wandering around the casino with our luggage, we found an elevator and got on it. A maintance man was on the same elevator and when we could not find the 2nd floor button, advised us we were in the wrong elevator. He said we needed the east elevator. We got off the elevator, and after more wandering, found the east elevator. After a long wait for it to arrive, we got on and pushed the button. We immediately regretted this as the elevator shook and made an awful noise. Fortunately, we were only going to the 2nd floor so we made it! We only used the stairs from that time on.
The room was extremely small with 2 windows that had smoked glass so you couldn't see through but it was obvious they were nearly up against the wall. The room was very dark, even with all 3 lights turned on. The room did have a certain "Old Vegas" charm, with antique furniture but the carpet was filthy and had a huge fresh stain that I am afraid to think of what caused it.
Overall, our stay at Binion's was okay and we did sleep well since the sunlight could not penetrate the wall to wake us! I realize this was one of the "Promotion" rooms but it didn't promote me to ever want to stay there again!
I would not recommend staying in the hotel at Binions, especially since the beautiful Golden Nugget is right across the street!

- Undecided Harrah's has made some good changes in the casino (carpeting, lighting, eliminated clutter) however the good $5 single deck blackjack is gone.
The biggest disappointment was the snack bar. We loved to eat at the snack bar - they had the best hamburgers available anywhere. The grill is gone and I noticed so were the customers. We used to have to wait for a seat which we were glad to do because it was worth it. Everyone I spoke to in the casino was complaining and one woman was trying to start a petition to bring back the grill. I don't think Harrah's realized what a great draw it was.
