Super 8 Motel at Nellis AFB

I stayed at this property back in December - it was okay then - but returned this week and could not believe my stay! First, the clerk checking us in was very rude. She could not dfind our reservation by name - actually tried to send us on our way! I asked her numerous times to please check by the conifrmation number, but she replied - no that's okay if your in here, we can find you by your name. After much inconvenience and building irritabilty, I told her, check the conifrmation number - finally in a disgrutlled attitude she looked up the confiramtion number - low and belhold - It was thier - with the exception, they had spellec my last name wrong. Finally to our room we went. The room was small and the furniture terribly worn. But - I guessed that all they had this time around. As night went on it was time for sleep. We went to bed, and as I started to doze off, somehtin hard hit me in the head and then started moving - I came flying out of bed - It was a flying roach!!! Kept thinking what has happened to this place! Finally one hour and a sleeping pill later, I was out. Then at about 6:15 in the morning the sound of screaching metal made me again jump from the bed thinking a wreck was getting ready to come through my room wall - I looked outside and low and behold a tractor truck was pulling one of those mini-storage trailers across the parking lot in front of my room! By this time I had to make my feelings known - I called the front desk, a person different from the evening before answered - when I told her of my problems, just as rude as the previous clerk, she told me "Don't worry about it, we will give you 10% off!" What is this place - it is not the same one I stayed in before! My recommendation has changed - don't stay here unless you enjoy rude service - bugs and being woken at 6 in the morning

Super 8 Motel at Nellis AFB

While visiting Las Vegas, I took time to visit several properties. Because the Super 8 was listed by Trip Advisor as better than The Las Vegas Hilton and NYNY - I had to see it for myself.
Well first impression - I was a little nervous based on the area as well as people coming in and out of the rooms - and this fear actually continued throughout my stay....
This is just your everyday small motel about 12 miles from the Las Vegas strip. Nothing to write home about - nothing to brag about. The rooms small, the staff somehat helpful but don't expect them to go out of thier way to deliver and iron to you. Continental breakfast consisted of a couple of juices, some coffee and a (and I mean A as in only one out in the basket, special K bar) No premium channels such as HBO or Showtime. They advertised wireless internet - but that wasn't available, and actually was told that it was never available, "but thier thinking about it". The swimming pool was just a little bigger than the bathtub in the room - The restaurant attached to the property was preety nice - regular diner, but served large portions....
I don't know how this small way off the strip property got such high marks, unless they are posting reviews themselves, but under no circumstance does it beat the LV Hilton or even the LV Travelodge on the strip.

This is not the safest place in Las Vegas. That's all I care to say, except I won't stay here again!
