Date Visited: 07/11 - Bad Visit

When we checked in at midnight with our party consisting of 3 rooms, we were told that our room had a person added to it (king size bed for 3?). We replied no one was added and the front desk person argued with us that indeed Expedia had added a person to our room and we would have to take it up with Expedia. We told her there was a mistake and we didn't want any visitors, she replied she would put a block so that no one would be admitted to our room. We got our keys and proceed to our room on the 5th floor, opened the door to hear a man shout "who is there", we quickly closed the door and stood in the hall completely baffled. The man soon appeared in a robe and asked what we were doing in his room. We had asked the desk for the name of the 3rd person and asked this man if that was his name, he replied yes, but I have been in this room for a week. We then went to a second room our party had booked. That room was supposed to be 2 queen beds, but was a king. We called the front desk and was again told it was Expedia's fault. We asked for a manager to call us back and waited over 25 minutes. In the interim we called Expedia and they called the Bellagio who finally admitted it was their fault and that they had personally handed us new keys, that was an outright lie. We again called the front desk and they directed us to a room on the 7th floor and said they had rekeyed our keys. We went to the 7th floor and the keys did not work, so again, another call to the front desk, the woman there told me I shouldn't be so rude, I appologized for taking my humiliation and complete frustration out on her, but told her I had been trying to get a room for nearly an hour only to be blocked at every step of the way and that no manager had the decency to call me back. Finally a manager came on the phone and at our request, offered us a small compensation for all our hardship which at this point out of sheer exhaustion, we accepted. She told us to go to the 7th floor and security would meet us with new keys. The second room had to share the king bed as no roll in or room with 2 queens was available that first night. We never did get the 2 queen bed room, but a very poor substite of a roll in bed. When we checked out, we were told that one of the rooms was still booked for an additional night and we would be charged, again a "mistake" of Expedia, despite our protests, they were again arrogant and insisted we were wrong, this went on for the better part of a half hour. We left, determined to straighten it out with Expedia and our credit card carrier, but after checking with both, found out that there was no additional charge. All this added to the additional "user fees" they charge of $20.00 +tax per day. Needless to say, there will never be another Bellagio stay in our itinerary. Everything there is way overpriced and the customer service is non-existent. On top of all that, our bathroom sink and toilet gurgled all the time, making us leary of toxic fumes.

Strickly for tourists that want high end gambling, most of the slots and video poker are high denomination with poor pay tables.Rooms expensive, restaurants way over priced.Very attractive place with good ventilation.Okay sports book. Not really geared for families. Many expensive shops are in the casino. If you have money to burn and you want to stay in a nice place this might be your cup of tea.

We purchased tickets to see The "O" through ticketmaster and had our confirmed seat numbers sent to us in a confirmation email. Unfortunately, when we arrived to the Bellagio to pick up our tickets and enter the show, slightly late I might add (10:10 to a 10:00 show) we found that they had sold my tickets. Apparently, this is their policy. There was no mention in confirmation email about when I had to pick up my tickets.

When I asked to speak to the supervisor I was disappointed to be greeted, instead with a kind introduction or a sense of empathy, a cold and combative young woman (Natalee Bishop-Griego). She confirmed that the tickets had been sold moments before, and that there was nothing she could do for us. She “consoled” us by reminding us that this was the number one selling show in Las Vegas and “…of course it’s going to sell out”. She then mentioned that she, “out of courtesy” would agree to refund our tickets and offered to book us for the next available showing: Wednesday when we were flying home the next day. It also appears that a profit was made from the last minute ticket sale since my tickets were purchased for about $260 and tickets are sold at significantly higher rates on the day of. Mrs. Bishop-Griego’s next response was to direct me to the ticket sale policy on the Bellagio web site. I purchased my tickets through Ticketmaster, and she told me that somewhere in the confirmation of the ticket purchase, was a link telling me that I had to arrive one hour before the show to retrieve my tickets. She printed it out and handed it to me. (I’ve attached my confirmation email for reference – which does not state anything about ticket pickup time) I asked her what she would be willing to do in the way of comp-ing or discounting tickets for another trip. Her response was that I had already received a discount from Ticketmaster by purchasing tickets online.

I have a serious issue, not only with policy that The “O” employs of selling already paid for seats, but the manner in which Mrs. Bishop-Greigo dealt with my wife and I. We are certainly not used to being treated this way in a place where we like to gamble, enjoy ourselves, and spend our money. It deeply impacted our impression of The “O”, Cirque du Soleil, and The Bellagio. If already purchased seats are sold, and a person arrives late to retrieve their seats, I would expect that the utmost care be given to those people who have been inconvenienced – and at the very least comp-ed tickets and something to encourage them to come back.

In all my efforts to contact the Bellagio management about my issue, I was met with arrogance and indifference to what happened to us. It really ruined my impression of Bellagio, and being such a world recognized hotel, they feel they can afford to have a handful of people unhappy I suppose.

I am not sure if this will fall on deaf ears or not, I would like to enlighten you on my stay at the Bellagio Resort with my family on May 7th through May 9th in unit 32060 Penthouse Unit.

I am in the Hospitality Industry myself and know Guest Satisfaction is our key goal. Unsatisfied guests are not something I am accustomed to not only for a Guest at our Resorts but being a Guest at your Resort as well.

During our stay, I was caught off guard on the morning of May 9th (Mother’s Day) around 6:30 AM when my wife awoke to water dripping on the floor in the Bar/Kitchen area. I got out of bed to see where the noise was coming from and to my surprise water was running out of the light fixtures and HVAC return grill in the ceiling. We had personal belongings including camera equipment on the bar, which obviously was damaged by the water.

I contacted the front desk and relayed my findings that the bar area was flooded and the water was coming out of the ceiling fixtures. Maintenance arrived 20 minutes later to explain that something was plugged in the floor above us and that the water would be running out of the ceiling for an unknown amount of time.

When housekeeping arrived it was obvious the housekeeper was not given the appropriate message on the events in our penthouse unit. The housekeeper was sent to clean up the flood unprepared using our towels from our bathrooms. While in our unit her radio was blasting with conversations as well as her cell phone, waking up our two minor boys to the circus of events. The housekeeper tried to clean up the flood as good as she could by leaving towels draped over the bar area and the floor to absorb what water the towels could hold and then left.

After housekeeping left the phone rang. The caller was a supervisor named Lisa who asked me if everything was ok. I replied for being awoken at 6:30 AM and having my room flooded, I was not pleased. Lisa stated she would give me $100.00 off the room for the inconvenience. I replied I would discuss this with her upon my departure.

Housekeeping came back 30 minutes later and provided my family with clean towels so that we were able to shower.

At approximately 10:30 we checked out of our room in the VIP lounge. The desk clerk informed me of my room balance. I stated I wanted to speak to a manager. She contacted her manager, Lisa, that in our opinion hides behind her employees. I was told Lisa credited us $100.00 and since we were checking out the same day the flood occurred there was nothing more that would be done. I asked the clerk to call her manager again so I could discuss the challenges we had in person. The clerk called Lisa again and after a minute hung up with her. The clerk stated Lisa was now in a meeting and offered a room service credit but would not meet with me in person. I felt I was getting nowhere with Lisa or the clerk and left the area completely dumbfounded at the lack of courtesy I was shown.

After leaving the VIP lounge my wife and I were approached by another employee who was standing at the front entrance. She asked if we needed assistance with anything. We asked to speak with a manager and she directed us to the front desk. A front desk manager who was assigned to our room greeted us. We explained the situation and relayed to her that we wanted to file a complaint against the treatment we endured for an inconvenience that was not at all our fault. The fact that the VIP manager was not available and did not offer to send another employee to discuss our challenges or dissatisfaction was unacceptable. The front desk manager offered to credit our account an additional $100. 00. We did accept however our main point was not about savings but rather the lack of respect by a manager and her team. Check out time was at noon, not at 6:30am. We had not planned on an early check out or having damaged personal belongings or damaged camera equipment only to be told that we basically did not matter because we were suppose to check out the same day anyhow.

After leaving the resort on May 9th, we reviewed the two statements we received one of which was from the VIP Lounge and the other from the front desk. Upon reviewing we discovered we were charged for a movie we never watched or even knew about as well as a CHARGE for being inconvenienced. Lisa had not credited our account for a total of $112.00 not actually charged us. The front desk manager did credit our account accordingly as shown on the second statement we received. After realizing these errors, my wife contacted customer service only to have the representative argue that we were credited the $112.00 after someone had realized the error although this was not the event that had taken place what so ever. My wife asked to speak with a manager again only to be put on hold abruptly for nearly ten minutes. The same representative came back on the line only to tell my wife his manager was not able to help and referred her to customer relations. My wife then called customer relations and discovered the department is not open on the weekends. She left a message with our information and room number. Today is May 11th and we have yet to receive a return call about the challenges we endured.

**Also forgot to mention we last power in half of our penthouse unit during the flooding event**

Date Visited: 02/09 - Good Visit

I visited this property in Feb. of 09. The property was selected by office vote for a small office retreat. I visit Vegas twice a year, and I normally stay at Paris. My expectations for the visit were low after reading prior posts regarding the snottiness of the property. Having now stayed at the property, I can say that those posts were incorrect.

The check-in was excellent. A bell-hop met us at the taxi and made sure that our luggage was taken to our room. The front desk was more than adequately staffed, and we did not have to wait in line. The room was ready despite arriving prior to check in time.

The rooms were immaculate. The bathroom area was very nice, and the room was spacious compared to others where I have stayed in Vegas.

I am not a high roller. Typically I budget $1,200.00 per day for gambling. I bet anywhere from $10.00 to $50.00 per hand at black-jack, craps and other table games. While I expected to be treated poorly because I am not a high roller, I found exactly the opposite. The casino staff was excellent, and the drink service was beyond what I have found at other properites. I have gambled at nearly every property in Vegas, and no where have I found better drink service. I was able to find $10.00 minimum craps tables at any time of day or night. I did discovery that $25.00 minimum bets were required to be rated at the black-jack and roulette tables.

The cleanliness of the entire property was beyond my expectations. Our room was serviced twice per day. I was pleased to see that there was security at the elevators that checked for room keys.

The sports-book and the poker room were the best I have seen in Vegas. Although the sports-book was very posh, I was a little disappointed that the same bets were not avaialble that were avaialable at many other properties. I had to go to other properties to make my sports bets, but I would prefer to watch the games at Bellagio.

The buffet at Bellagio was excellent, although it did not offer the variety of that of some of the other Vegas buffets such as Rio, Paris and the Wynn. There were very good places to eat in Bellagio, but I was a little disappointed with the service at Olives. That being said, the food was excellent, and much better than the food that I have had at some other higher end places in Vegas.

We Went to the cirque show O, which I did not enjoy, and my wife was not thrilled either. Love at Mirage was much better.

Did not check out the pool since it was February.

Check out was as easy as check in. Despite not being a high roller, all of the meal and drink charges to my room were comped.

Since my Feb. visit, I have received email offers for lower rates at Mirage and Mandalay Bay (I gambled at these properties, albeit much less than at Bellagio). However, I have not received any offers from Bellagio.

All in all, I had a very good visit, and would love to stay at this property again. But, if given the choice of staying at this property again for the $159.00 per night that I paid; or staying for free at Paris, I would likely stay at Paris. I am staying at Mandalay Bay in April, so I am interested to see how it compares.

We did not stay here but will on our next visit. We stayed at Caesers but it was a disaster and will not stay there again. We viosited Bellagio and the hotel, casino was as it should be. The buffet was first class, the staff were helpfull and polite all in all a first class place to stay. We are regular visitors to Las Vegas and the place has been going down hill recently. It was a pleasure to see a good well run Hotel/Casino as the rest are still in a downword spiral.

Date Visited: 06/08 - Good Visit

The Bellagio benefits from hype and its fountains out front that give it that aura of being something special. The fact is that it is very much one of several high end Vegas hotels that tend to blend in with each other once you're on the elevators heading up to your room. I'm no high roller, so the room I had was pretty standard, along the lines that you would get at a Westin--clean, simple, tasteful, but nothing out of the ordinary. As it turns out, that's all I look for in a hotel--that, a flat-screen HD TV with full cable, a comfortable bed and a great shower. The Bellagio was simply "okay" in this category.

The casino is like most other high-end casinos. Blindfold me, drop me off in the middle of the casino, and unless I saw any identifying signs, I would have no clue as to which hotel I was in. The thing about five-star hotels elsewhere is that you FEEL like you're in an exclusive hotel. The Bellagio and any other high-end hotel along the strip invites anyone to come on in, so you'll have the whole spectrum of visitors walking around the public areas. Nothing wrong with that, except there is a major difference in "feel" between any five star LV hotel (not just the Bellagio) and five star hotels in other resort areas around the world. On the positive side, nice pools and the psychological plus of telling people that you are staying at the Bellagio. Is it worth paying the price for that? I suppose it depends on how much money you have.

I am very delinquent in getting this posted, but overall I have nothing much to add to some of the excellent reviews already posted here. What I did want to mention though is Bellagio is a AAA hotel and you can get the 10% discsount which is very significant given their room prices.

I normally wouldn't stay at such an expensive place, but it was our anniversary and I thought that I would splurge for 3 nights and got a lake side room. Upon checking in a very alert clerk noticed my AAA card when I was showing her my drivers license for ID. She immediately said "I will give you your AAA discount". So I read all the stuff about slipping $20 to the clerk and other 'tricks' to get better service, but if you are AAA or AARP, put that card next to your drivers license to remind you to ask for the discount and even if you forget maybe an alert clerk will catch it. This is the third time that I have had this happen to me.

By the way the hotel and casino were very nice, but expensive. Service was great. But besides the high price for rooms everything else in the place is about double what you would pay for it somewhere else. But if you have a whim to treat yourself to a nice weekend this is the place.

This place has the best of the best. The best employees ,the best location, the best strip views and the best suites and rooms. We stayed at the Belagio for two days 09/23-09/24. The 23rd was our 40th anniversary and I wanted my wife to have the best. Here is the BEST part. As we were checking in we noticed how long the lines were so I told my wife to take some pictures to kill time. Now right after I said that two windows opened and we went up front very quickly. The very nice reservation clerk asked for i.d and our credit card. I had already made reservations for a lake front deluxe room but I explained to her anout our anniversary and was wondering if the B. had any nice suites we could be upgraded to. Well this fantastic lady smiled and said 40 years huh and I said es mam. The next thing I knew was my wife came back just as this lady said -Here you are sir your in #15001 . Wll folks that turned out to be the Cypress suite and it was 1550. sq. ft. with a awesome strip and lake view . My wife almost cried when she walked in.

I didn't stay here, and this was my first visit. I just wanted to see the place and play a little. I won $800(4 aces, no kicker) at a VP bar on a $1 DDBP machine within 15 mins of sitting foot in the casino! It was only my 5th deal when I hit.

I always thought this casino would be stuckup and snobby. it's not like that at all. The dark hardwood and marble decor give a beautiful and warm atmosphere to the place. I would love to return soon for a stay...if I can afford it....LOL!

We've stayed here at least 15 times over the past 8 or nine years and like it as much as ever. The rooms are fine - not truly special, but fine. The service is generally very good, though housekeeping sometimes gets forgetful of essentials. The restaurants are very good, though we'd prefer a few more "middle" ones. The best though, are the casino and those wonderful fountains. The casino is more pleasant a place to play than any other we've been to, and the video poker is as good as any on the strip, with the exception of the Wynn. And from the window of our lakeview room (which we've always had), the fountains are a constant source beauty and grace.

First, the positives. A beautiful room on the 28th floor overlooking the fountains and the mid strip. Nice spacious bathroom. The pool is very nice. We could easily find chairs. Interesting, the main pool was heated but the smaller pools with the fountains were not. Most kids were at the larger pool. (Yes, there were a few kids since it was spring break time, but they were not too annoying) The conservatory was as nice as expected, done up in Easter flowers.

We had room service breakfast one day that was very good and not badly priced for room service. The coffee shop (like starbucks) and gelati bar were very convenient for a quick breakfast and lunch. Hint: The gelati bar was right across the hall and had almost everything the coffee place had, but was a lot less crowded .

I do need to mention the negative first impression. You walk in and there are 10 places at the desk checking people in. But there are multiple people waiting to check in at each station - no single line to queue up. You have to guess which line to get in to see which would move the fastest. Why they do not have a single line feeding the agents is odd.

The other negative is surprising based on earlier reviews – it is housekeeping. It started with no turndown the first night (after we put in a request about 5PM.) The next day, we returned from our day trip at 2:30and the bed was turned down for the night. The next day, the room was not made up at all until after 7PM – despite us being out all morning and most of the afternoon. Chocolates only 1 night. Also strange, no soap for the shower…a small facial bar and the usual shampoos, rinses and creams, but not bath or body soap. None of these things were huge, but they keep me from giving an A+.

The other problem was a warm room. Granted we like it very cool, but the room never got close to where we liked it the first 2 days. On the third day, we finally called the desk. They sent up an engineer who changed the air filter and that helped some. But I can not imagine what it will be like in the summer time.

Stayed there for one night in the first week of January if for no other reason than to say I did. Payed $129 which is about a cheap as I have seen it. The rooms are very nice. Very very nice. The bathrooms are incredible. Very high end fixtures and whatnot. The buttons to open and close the curtains and sheers were cool. Of course they had a minibar and snack tray that you really didn't want to touch. Very nice.

Had nothing but good experiences with the staff. I arrived at the hotel at about 2:00 and found to my surprise that I could check in early and was given a room that was already cleaned. That was nice. When my folks got to their room, the remote was missing so they called room service and had another in about 5 minutes. They also had room service dinner and although it was expensive ($70 for the 2 of them) they said the food was delicious and the portions were generous. I didn't gamble there this time but I have seem five dollar tables there in the past( I know that they are the rare exception). All in all a very nice place. Not as nice as the Venetian, but certainly as nice as Mandalay Bay and nicer that PLV. If the price was right, I would stay there again. Although, I cannot imagine ever paying what passes for the usual midweek price there.

Has gone way down hill from the days when Steve Wynn was at the helm.

Atmosphere is morgue-like; although the casino is spacious and attractive, though crowded with tourists walking through.

Food and rooms arte fine but the prices are absurdly high.

This was my 5th trip to Vegas in 2 years and I was finally able to bring my wife. Since I wanted her to love the city as I do and it was our 30th anniversary, we splurged and stayed at the Bellagio. I have never stayed in a 5-star hotel, but frankly, I was disappointed with the Bellagio. Check-in was very slow for a Sunday afternoon. The room itself was the best part of the place. It was spotless with a huge bathroom and comfortable bed. Housekeeping was there twice daily. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. My biggest disappointment was the crowds and noise in the lobby, casino, and shopping and dining areas. It was impossible just to walk around. It was obvious many of the people milling around were just sight-seeing and not guests (which I guess was me on my previous trips!) It was just a real hassle to get around anywhere on the 1st floor. Considering the price we paid, I would have preferred the other 2 or 3 top-rated hotels in town. I have stayed at 4 other "4 star" hotels in town, where I paid less than half Bellagio’s rate and they were well worth it. When we go back, we won’t stay at the Bellagio at their prices.

My wife and adult daughter (now a med student) have stayed at Bellagio five times. We will this summer (July/August), also. We love the rooms and sleep soundly due in part to the comfortable beds and quiet environment. Check in has always gone well and the front desk has been professional in all our interactions with them. We are not high rollers yet we are always treated with respect and feel like we are as important as any other guest. We love room service, especially breakfast. There have been some changes since our first visit in 2001. The banana split desert served in Cafe Bellagio is no longer served on a glass "painter's palette": this was a very cool and sophisticated presentation, which is no longer offered . We missed the Keno Lounge last year. We played Keno in Cafe Bellagio and won 400 dollars on our first night. We like the the fountains and feel that the lake separates the Bellagio from the street crowds, like no other hotel on the strip has been able to do. My initial impression in 2001 was that I had come to an European resort, not just a casino in Las Vegas. We were introduced to more culture than we had ever experienced "back home in Indiana." We now listen to Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli. We appreciate the efforts of the staff and feel like Steve Wynn created more than a hotel/casino. It has provided us with positive memories and we hope to create more each year. I think the staff at Palio is first rate and extremely competent and friendly. We have eaten at all the restaurants and have enjoyed the experiences every time. The pool cafe is great and would recommend it! We tried the poolside cafe at Wynn and the experience was much less enjoyable than at Bellagio. We saw "O" and thought it was a very tasteful and sophisticated Cirque de Soleil performance which fit well with our expectations of taste and class while staying at Bellagio. We have visited the Bellagio to escape from life's difficulties and have not been disappointed! Best Regards, Shaun

Arrived at 730pm in the evening. At the front desk we had to wait 45 minutes while two couples in a row ahead of us attempted to con the hotel clerk into giving them a free upgrade. Didn't work for either. We didn't try and were given a room key in less than two minutes at the desk. We were assigned to an oversized room (handicapped I believe, but you really could not tell it except that the toilet was extremely high and the extra space was very welcome). We had an internet rate and were placed on the 5th floor without a view (trust me we didn't go there to look at the window). The room was nice (it included electric drapes and sheers), but the tray of high priced snacks sitting on top of the high priced mini-bar seemed to take away from the elegance of the room. The carpet of the room had not been vacuumed very well and pieces of new clothing tags were still on the floor from the previous occupants. The bed was nice and the am/fm/cd combo alarm clock was nice to have in the room. Closet space was ok as was the space in the room safe. In comparing our room to others on the floor, including those with a view, we found that we really did get much more room in the handicapped room.

The lights in the vanity mirror and the shower stall of the bathroom were not working upon arrival. The handle to the water facet on the shower had fallen off and was sitting in the soap tray. The bathroom goodies were shampoo, conditioner, facial soup and a hair cap upon arrival and after the first night with a $2 tip for the maid. However, with a $5 tip on the second night we were able to gain two larger bottles of shampoo and conditioner. Along with that suddenly appeared two bars of bath soap, an envelope of bath salts for the soaking tub, toothbrush kit, hairspray, sewing kit, mouth wash and four facial bars. That $5 got us more in the crapper than $5 spent down stairs in the casino.

The buffet was not that great and my wife compared the odors in the dining area as similar to that of a dining room in a poorly run nursing home. We would not go back to the buffet, and would not have even if comped. We did try the cafe and found it nice, but over priced.

Don't use the valet for parking. We spent almost an hour waiting on our car to go out the second night we were there. We used the self park afterwards and found it to be much better. It is so close to the front desk that you would almost be a fool who wanted to part with your money not to park in the self parking. We were told by one couple that it took $20+ tip to get your car faster at the valet, and there was no guarantee that you still would not have to wait.

As for turn down service, my wife and I are still laughing about how that service was provided by the Bellagio. Since we didn't get to the room until about 830pm the first night, we found that the turn down service had been done upon our arrival, including two chocolates being left at bedside. The shammed pillows were left lying against the wall on the floor near the heating and air conditioning unit. The sham pillows never moved the rest of our stay. The maids came in and made the bed up in the morning and basically "turned down" the bed in the morning when they made the bed up. No more chocolates were given out and we never saw the bed actually "made up" the entire stay. The last hotel we were at, the Weston in Kansas City, did a great job of making the beds up each morning and turning the down with the chocolates on the pillows(even when you were out at night). I guess this is how the Bellagio is saving itself some money.

Overall, the place is nice, but the staff didn't seem to be very attentive, unless you flash the cash. We did get the lights fixed in the bathroom within the first day we stayed. The handle to the shower faucet, although usable, was still sitting in the soap dish of the shower stall.

Upon check out we couldn't get the total bill to show up on the TV screen for express checkout, so we used the TV express check out and then went down stairs to get a hard copy. That took us another 30 minutes while some guy argued with a clerk about all the movies that were charged to his room (about ten total). He steamed and stormed for more than 10 minutes and finally the manager on duty just took the charges off (I think more to get rid of his complaining than to agree that the charges were not correct). Maybe we should have done the same, but reallly just wanted to be done with our trip there and be gone.

This was our first trip to the Bellagio and it will be our only trip there. For the price and all the hype about the Bellagio, we found it to be mediocre at best and certainly not five stars. We prefer the Venetian. We find it much more attentive, clean, and elegant and the layout is much friendlier. I've never waited more than 10 minutes for my car at the Valet and have always found the rooms to be in great shape and top notch. As with so many other of the fine hotels in Las Vegas, the Bellagio is starting to have seen its day and will most likely go the way of so many other fabulous hotels of Vegas.

My husband and I just got back from the Bellagio. We decided to splurge a little and stay at there for our Anniversary. The room was mediocre and I requested a view with the internet rate and used the anniversary card to try to get the upgrade. Of course the upgrad was not granted. The first morning we were there the sink gurgled everytime someone in another room either turned on the sink or took a shower. It prevented us from sleeping in. The last night we were there, the handle to the shower stall pulled out when my husband tried to take a shower. We received no turndown service the first day we were there because we had taken a nap that afternoon. However, the rest of the time the beds were never fully made up so there was no turn down services and therefore no chocolates. As for the toiletries, we received a bar bath soap, sewing kit, facial soap, vanity kit, shampoo, conditioner, mouthwash, lotion and shower cap. Never received the bath salts. I don't think I would have wanted them because the tub looked dirty.

The pool service was great even though the water was a little cold. They did not turn on the heater on the pool even though the weather was relatively cool was Vegas this time of year. The cocktail waitress was very attentive and also managed to get out food from the poolside cafe delievered to use pool side. However, one of the towels that I received had a relatively obvious yellow stain on it. I had to go and get it replaced. There should be people walking around to provide fresh towels as needed. I guess since you're not paying for towels but are for drinks and food you notice the difference in service.

We had reservations made for Prime Steakhouse for our anniversary dinner by the Concierge because the time I wanted was not available through the online system. She managed to get us in and informed the restaurant of out celebration. The service was attentive and the food was very well done. However, she neglected to make reservations for the dessert on the Patio and the server did not offer this option upon arrival. However, Russell made up for it by getting us a table anyway.

I chose the Bellagio over the Venetian for its location but have been know to stay at Paris as well. I think I would pick any of the two before I would stay at the Bellagio again because I know what to expect at Paris and Venetian and they met my expectations the first time I stay there. Actually at Paris, they upgraded me just so I would not have to wait for the originally assigned room to be ready. Bellagio is nice but it did not meet my expectations.

First off, it's a very nice hotel IF you've got the money to spend! They don't cater to average people who go to Vegas occasionally. Let's begin;

ROOM

Our Southwest vacations package included a deluxe room with a lake view and that's what we got! We had a comfortable king size bed on the 27th floor overlooking the fountains. Watch out for the motion-sensitive mini-bar! Touch anything and you're automatically charged! A TV where half the channels were Asian (as were most of the guests)! No coffee maker in the room! No big deal, but a cup in the hotel was $4, and expect to wait 15 minutes in the morning! LOUD maids yelling to each other down the hall EVERY morning!

SERVICE

Poor. There were lines to wait for everything! Concierge, front desk, restaurants. The ONLY person to ask if we had a nice stay was the BELL BOY when we checked out! He was the only one that felt generally concerned with the quality of our stay.

CASINO

Most of the tables were $10 and above (WAY above!) minimums. Slots were decent but service was slow for drinks. Not a very cheery casino like Paris. Watch out for the Player's Club trick! We registered at Bellagio, and the card is good at MGM, NYNY, Mirage and Treasure Island...HOWEVER, the only points the Bellagio will count are the ones you accumulate in their casino. TI would take them all, plus you get a bonus for signing up there. Bellagio gave us nothing...MGM gave us key chains!

FOOD

WAY over priced! Breakfast at the pool cafe cost us $80. Maybe not a big deal to the high rollers, but I expect to get what I pay for, plus you had to wait in line again for a table. If you want GREAT service, try Michael's in the Barbary Coast. Advertising is word of mouth, and it's expensive, but you won't find better service or food ANYWHERE on the strip!

Overall, I would not recommend staying at the Bellagio. The room was nice, but gamble and eat somewhere else. Try Ellis Island restaurant for their $5 steak dinner, or the Hard Rock Casino's $7.77 steak and shrimp special in Lucky J's (?). Both aren't on the menu...you have to ask.

Bellagio's only claim to fame now is the beautiful indoor nature conservatory.

Lots of model train exhibits for kids of all ages.

However, the entire property is not ageing as gracefully.

VIP check-in is very slow, and the buffet servers are very stingy with portions.

Don't even think about asking for an extra cut of prime rib. You just won't get it, and you'll get snippy comment in return.

I am sitting here laughing as I read another poster's comments. Laughing because some of the exact things happened on our visit! I promise I'm on the same poster!!! (and sorry for having put this in the trip report section instead of here first)

We arrived around 7:30pm on a Wed. Only 1 other person was ahead of me, yet it took quite awhile to get checked in. I had reserved 'non-smoking'. The receptionist asked me if I wanted 'non-smoking'. I said 'yes thank you'. She went over to what I realize was a manager(male) then came back and said 'non-smoking, 2 beds' and the usual spiel--of have a nice visit, etc... I had been to Bellagio previously so I was familiar with the layout and had told her. I was there on a casino rate which I do believe came into play with my experience this time. Upon getting into the elevator, I noticed the floor we were on was 'smoking'(let's not talk about the view---but I didn't pay for an upgrade so that's the way it goes). I thought that maybe there were some non-smoking rooms on the floor(I'll admit, I wasn't very bright) Get to room and sure enough, could smell smoke and saw the ashtrays. I decided that I'd 'let it go' but after one night ended up buying plug in air fresheners and dealing with it that way. My daughter had already unpacked and she wasn't budging LOL.

But back to the first hour of our stay in the room---lightbulb on lamp between beds was out, no welcome pamphlet w/room service and other info, beds were already 'turned down'. During that first hour(which is how long it took to resolved all this stuff), I called the front desk 3x to get the booklet sent up and for maintenance. I was rerouted to different places. But the best line I heard was 'do you want me to READ you the menu?' I thought I heard wrong. But the man who said he was the manager(July 12--Wed evening) said 'I can read you the menu w/prices'. I LAUGHED and said 'no, I'd like to see the entire menu'. At first I was sent a copy of the pricing for the honor bar. I was stupid in not realizing the entire floor was smoking, but I wasn't that stupid to know I asked for ROOM SERVICE menu as opposed to honor bar list. After I tipped the poor soul that had brought me the wrong info, I had to call back downstairs only for bozo the manager to tell me I needed to speak to housekeeping. Sorry to call names, but even now when I think about it I realize how poor customer service was that night. He acted like he hadn't a clue on what booklet I was referring to so I pointed out that when I stayed in the penthouse a few months prior, it was in there as most other hotels also have it available. Houskeeping proceeded to bring me a COPY of room service menu(not the entire book as I was told it was missing). Having stayed in the penthouse suite 2x before, I know THEY get a real booklet w/menu and hotel info. Don't the lowly guests get hard copies of things??

Maintenance did show up to fix the burned out bulb but not after my being told it was probably just not turned on(front desk said the same thing to me....guess they figured I was the idiot that thanked them for non-smoking room so I wasn't capable of figuring out how electricity worked :) So 3 tips later we were ready to just order room service. That did come very quickly and no complaints there.

Rest of stay was average. I certainly noticed the difference in treatment as a penthouse guest and a regular room guest. I left tips daily for housekeeping yet our beds were ALWAYS in 'turn-down' position! As in the bedspreads and pillows were stacked next to the bed. I stopped leaving tips in the evening for 'turn-down' person because I felt WHAT did they have to do besides leave me a chocolate? Guess it wasn't their fault. While I could see the reasoning for folding the bedspread at the foot of the bed(ON the bed), it never happened. All seemed like a lazy way of doing work. As for the room itself, it needs to be refreshed including the bedspreads as I saw cigarette burns on them.

Salon workers were nice, for the most part the cocktail servers were good--that is when they were around, and the cafe was average. I thought this trip wasn't quite a good as the last. Service was very slow overall. Alas, I will return to the penthouse in October but if it's the same attitude from the staff, I'll be looking elsewhere.

Our overall experience here was good, but we were disappointed that we had some problems with the room. The air conditioning was lacking; maintenance came 2 or 3 times to try to fix it, and they ultimately improved it to adequate, but not great. Our toilet also kept running after it wa flushed; maintenance came 2 or 3 times to try to fix it, and they eventually made it quieter, but it was never completely fixed. Management gave us a $50 credit at check out, without us demanding it. I would not have expected any problems with a hotel that is reputed to be "5 stars." I do give them credit for working hard to try to fix the problems, so I rate the service as excellent. Also, the gaming, pool, spa and restaurants at Bellagio were all great. Overall, we had a good time, but for Bellagio to maintain its 5 star reputation, they really need to inspect all of the rooms and make sure that guests paying their high prices don't have any problems.

I had requested a 2 queen non smoking room and instead got a single king with a roll away for my first night. Yeah, I got stuck in a luxurious roll away at the Bellagio. Stayed 3 nights and having to move after the first night is quite an inconvenience!!!! I couldn't unpack, and then was worried all the next morning whether or not I could get a new room with 2 beds. Front desk staff not helpful at all. They don't even offer to move you. you have to do it all yourself. So I had to wait around until the new room was ready. Wasted time all that morning. Buffet is not worth the price, although it is decent. There were no pool people to help with finding chairs. But the pool is beautiful, and the entire hotel is vey nice. Security staff needs to be a little more friendly with the patrons.

The Bellagio experience was beyond expectations. Service was the best that I have ever experienced. Impressive Interior decorating, piano's playing, comfortable layout throughout the hotel. Spa/Gym was outstanding (my first message ever was one of the best parts of the trip). The pool area was comfortable, not too crowded or noisy. Wonderful restaurants including many at water level with the fountain show in front. The pool cafe was wonderful also. Expect to pay a few bucks more. Don't worry about the $$ and you will enjoy yourself.

Beautiful hotel to look at and that's about it!!!! The staff seemed a little overworked and frustrated. The front desk staff confused the hesk out of me and at one point I was almost convinced that I wasn't who I said I was(mixed up reservations). The casino is rather bland and dull it feels almost like a wake, you almost get the feeling that someone is going to Shhh!! you. Stay at the Luxor, much better experience and atmosphere.

I didn't stay at The Bellagio, but attended a business conference there. While dining at Olvies, I received food poisoning after eating a BLT with avocado. As one of the speakers that afternoon at the conference, I had to excuse myself numerous times to the bathroom. I was sick for the rest of the night. The next day we had a post-conference get together at FIX Restaurant & Bar. Although our group of 30 had been arranged to be seated together in a VIP area; we soon discovered that in spite of the reservations, FIX had been invaded by rich kids and Euro-trash who nosily crowded the bar (at 5pm) and seating area. The crab cakes were medicore, the drinks expensive and nothing special, and the service

was weak. We had plans to dine as a group at the Prime Steakhouse, but after 20 minutes of inattention, I suggested that we instead adjourn to the Venetian, and have dinner at Delmonico Steakhouse, which was superb. I tend to stay

at The Venetian, Mandalay Bay, or MGM Grand, after the lousy experience at

Bellagio, that won't change.

Stayed for 2 nights after Christmas. There were way too many children for my taste; strollers were everywhere. The Bellagio is losing the feeling of being special that it used to have because of all of the kids. That being said, the room (just a basic room) was very nice and the service was excellent. Staff was helpful and friendly. Video poker selection in the casino was not very good. I think that I will have to try Caesar's next time because of the kids. Food at Cafe Bellagio was quite good although expensive for a coffee shop.

I did not stay at the Bellagio, but visited several times. It is a beautiful place, with lavish decor, a wonderful buffet, and the fountain show is to-die-for! Even if you can't afford to sleep here, make it a stop on your list of things to do!

Date Visited: 11/05 - Good Visit

It was our 20th wedding anniversary and we spent 6 nights at the Bellagio in a Deluxe Lakeview room on the 22nd floor. It was fabulous! We enjoyed watching the fountain show every 15-30 minutes (depending on the time of day) right below our window. The song "This Kiss" is now imprinted in my mind forever. I don’t know why - there were many other songs that played in sequence to the movement of the fountain show.

We arrived during the fall-to-winter decoration transition. It was fun seeing the progress in the Conservatory each day of the Christmas decorations going up and comparing them with the artist sketches of the finished product. Bellagio could have easily hung tarps to block the view until it was finished but it was a nice experience.

The service was excellent, right down to the valet parking. Everyone was very friendly and seemed happy to answer any questions we had. When we first arrived in the room I noticed two insignificant light bulbs burned out. I called guest relations, told them there was no hurry – we’d be there all week – and in 5 minutes maintenance was knocking on the door with spare bulbs.

We recently received a special email offer to come back next month (February). We liked our first visit so much we called and reserved a room. We are not Las Vegas regulars (one visit in 20 years prior to this) but we had such a great time that we’ve already made plans to go back two more times before Christmas 2006. The Bellagio staff and accommodations helped make our vacation a wonderful experience.

This was our first visit to Bellagio, we were comped a bellagio suite that had 3 bathrooms. It also faced the fountains. It was very nice viewing the fountain show from the 29th floor with the music playing on the TV. The service was great and the casino was like all the other ones on the strip. Some days I would win and others I would lose. Money management is the key to gambling.

We visit Las Vegas at least once a year...sometimes twice and deciced to stay at Bellagio because we heard outstanding things about the service. The hotel itself is beautiful however the service is attrocious. Not one person greeted us with a smile and most of the employees at the hotel seemed to be "put out" if we approached them with any questions. They messed up our room reservation...we reserved a Bellagio Suite with a king bed and got two queens. When we called the front desk to see about the mix up, we were told they had a king but that it wasn't ready and we would need to call periodically throughout the day to see when it would be ready. Not what I expected from a 5 star hotel...and no apologies. Overall I would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless you are OK being treated with disdain. We will not be returning to the Bellagio!

We did not stay at the Bellagio, but we did gamble here. For such a beautiful place, the slots are not that tight. I actually won and came out ahead. The lady at the change booth I used was very friendly. I considered her my good luck charm. Each time I cashed in a ticket with her, I would win the next time I played a slot. I must say, Steve Wynn may have built the Bellagio, but selling it took away the "snooty factor". The employees at the Wynn are a bit uppity, whereas the employees at the Bellagio are friendly and courteous to their patrons. I will keep going back to the Bellagio, but my one trip to Wynn Las Vegas was enough.

Stayed at the Bellagio 8/10 to 8/15.

Check-in; only area that needs improivement. Booked via casino rep and was given a lake view room. Open cheking in they told me that none were available. took us a while and showing them to confirmation that they need to make good on the room type or upgrade us. I also told them that I was fine with a strip view and a view of the pool. I just did not want to look at the highway were construciton was going on all day long. I believe one of the girls was new, becasue she had to keep looking at her cheet sheet to see where rooms were located. They were able after speaking to a manager to put us in the new Spa tower with views of Paris and Alladin and most of the lake.

ROOM: Wow, loved it the second I saw it. Room was larger than avergae hotel room. Color sceme was mutted tans and blacks. Very very very elegant. Two large comfortable chairs. A small table, Desk and chair were in the room with a large and extremely comfy bed. Lots of pillows. A lot a light. Bathroom was very large with double sinks, large glass shower. Large soaking tub. The bathroom has draws to store all buety products.. Kept counters clean.

Service. Excellent. We needed to call housekeeping three time during our stay. Our alarm clock was missing, we needed more hangers, and there was a beeping sound coming from the TV. Other than a little baffled on how the alarm clock was missed during room inspection (it was huge) They brought up all needed items right away. Very friendly. Housekkeeping even brought us a bucket of ice after seeing that we brought soda.

Secutiry at one point saw some young children walking alone on the casino flooe (they were maybe ten years old) After reading reviews on how rude staff would be to people with children or children themselves. I witnessed quute the opposite. The two security guards went up to them and ask them what they needed. They told them very nicely that they could not walk around the hotel by themselves for there safety. Appartently mom sent them down to get there dad from the tables (Smart move there) The women security guard told the kids she will take em back to the room while the other guard when to the pit to ask the pit boss to see if he knew where the father was plaiing (they can look that up on the computer). Very helpful and caring people.

Casino: I did well. Even when I did not entire staff was professional and pleasent. (OK so I hit a dozen straight flushes on Three card over the 5 days there) Comps were great. At the end of the time I was rated about $63 a hand for 7 hours play. I was compted Fri and Saturday night. All meals at the buffet and spa treatments (We figured about $1000 in comps and I went home with a lot of their money!!

SPA: Very nice very expensive. Very very large. Will go back again. Had the Vichy Shower and the Reflex Therapy message. About $300 with tip.

I will go back in a heartbeat.

I have been staying at the Bellagio ever since it opened and it is my favorite place in Vegas. It seems to get better over time. The room I was in this time had been completely remodeled. Even the bathroom fixtures had been changed. The colors were a beige black combination which really looked classy. Everything in the place was updated and modernized. New furniture and closets with a safe on the outside. They removed the hair dryer from the wall and put it in a drawer with a retractable cord. They added a small refrigerator to the room which was a nice touch. Curtains opened and closed with a touch of a button and flat panel stereo television. Over all I would have to say very nice improvements. The room was comfortable and quiet as always. I like to stay up late and sleep in until mid afternoon. I was never disturbed by housekeeping and with a single call to them the room was always cleaned and freshened by the time I returned from breakfast. As always their entire staff was friendly and courteous. Every meal I had was top notch from breakfast at the café to dinner at the Prime. It appears that they had been upgrading their slots and had a lot of brand new machines. They still need to get rid of a few of their machines which do not have the pay tickets and still pay out the coins. I have always found their comps to be good and this time was no exception. Overall a very pleasant stay one I will repeat again.

The Bellagio is our favorite place to stay. Have stayed at a few of the stip hotels, including the Venitian, and this is the one. The location is great, and the elegance is tops. Staff has always been top notch at all levels. And of course, the rooms are great. If you sign up and watch for there specials, you can often get a great rate (159) with a free upgrade to a fountain view room. Often times get a fountain view anyway by being at the top of the lower tiers of rooms. Even if you do not stay there, do not miss the garden and the fountains. The casino is our favorite. We play video poker and have had pretty good luck. Don't always win, but manage to not break the bank, either. On this last stay, I hit royal flushes on three consecutive days playing 5 quarters ($1000 payout). On my last one, my girlfriend was in the room napping and a waitress came by just as I hit. I gave her $5 and she called our room and she was soon down with me (camera in hand). The pool(s) are beyond description. The photos you see on the Bellagio website do not do it justice. I have not been there, but my girlfried usually spends some time in the spa. Everytime she raves about all the amenities there. Even though it might get a little deep into your pocketbook, the Bellagio is a must for at least one night for anyone who has not stayed there. Find a good rate during the week and treat yourself to at least one night of luxury.

Stayed at the Flamingo during 7/2-7/10/05 but was in the Bellagio daily. Very nice casino, IMHO one of the best in Vegas and BETTER than the Wynn. Because it's covered by the MGM Players Club it can actually be a very reasonable place to play, at least on machines. Table limits were out of my range. The free tram to Monte Carlo also a big plus. The Fountain show is one of the two best FREE shows in Vegas, along with the Fremont Street Experience. Don't miss it. Our group spent an evening on the balcony at the Fontana Bar having drinks and watching the shows. A highlight of our week there. Drink prices not out of line with most other NICE mid strip bars. Service was great!

Only down note for me was the increase in the number of kids running around the place since my last visit. Lifting Steve Wynn's ban on strollers has made getting in and out a bit more crowded.

The bathroom was spacious. The pool area itself was beautiful with nine or ten different pools. The shops were all high end and the casino is one of the nicest on the strip.

The last time we were at the Bellagio was in 2001. Since then, the rooms are even nicer. The decor was not too busy but understated and elegant. The bathrooms were amazing, all marble and with large countertops, deep tubs, and separate glass-enclosed showers. Last time we were there, the shower pressure was too strong, almost painful but not this time. Every night, the bed was turned down, the recessed lights in the mini-canopy above the bed turned on, and two chocolates left on the bedside table. There are buttons next to the bed to open/close the sheer and regular curtains. We had two recessed lights burned out and it took two days after our request to fix them, but it didn't change how nice our stay was. We didn't eat in the restaurants (too expensive) except for the patisserie, which was great. It had good sweets as well as crepes (sweet and savory) and yummy breakfast options (sweet and savory) if you're not looking for something heavy and time-consuming. As always, the pool area was top-notch. You have to present your key to go down there, the scenery is lush and elegant, everyone gets two large towels, plus there are about five different pools to choose from as well as two hot tubs. We spent a lot of time enjoying weather poolside (upper 80's with no humidity) sipping frozen pina coladas and frozen lemonade. If you can, get a room with a view of the fountains which are beautiful at night. Channel 31 on the TV plays the music that is going on outside during the performance so you can get the whole experience from your room. Plus, we had gotten a great deal through Southwest Vacations since the first week of June is cheaper. Overall, a great value for a top hotel. I also recommend the art gallery, which is a little pricey ($15) but wonderful. It's right by the authentic gelato shop. Yum!

We lucked out since the Bellagio Buffet featured their holiday gourmet buffet for Memorial Day. The food was awesome but in particular, the rack of lamb was truly the best rack I've ever had. Very intense lamb flavor, which I love. Jean-Philippe Patisserie had an awesome prosciutto panini that was very nicely done. Nice price too but what do you expect for the Bellagio? Hotel accommodations was of course, very classy, as expected. We had the lakefront view which was spectacular. The restaurant Michael Mina is, in my opinion, over-rated. Perhaps the original one in SF is all that the hype sets it up to be.

Stayed at the Bellagio from Apr 24th to 28th and enjoyed every minute of it. Though the price is a little more than many strip hotels, it is worth the difference. Rooms are first class and the bed is actually comfortable enough to sleep in, unlike mosts hotel beds. Service and staff were first rate, buffet is the best in Vegas. Trip was topped off nicely with a bit of a win in Bellagio casino, can't say that for any of the others. We have stayed at Flamingo, Golden Nugget, and a few others over the past number of years, but Bellagio outclasses them all. Do yourselves a favour and spend a little more for a lot more quality in return. This was our first visit to Bellagio but it will not be our last.

Ok well I'm almost done with the "four corners " and I must say the Bellagio is alot different from when you stay there and just go there to gamble. I was there from March 21 thru March 24 and I am still undecided on this property . Check in was ok not a long line and the desk clerk was polite. I stayed in a Deluxe room with his and her bathrooms . My girl thought it was nice we were on the 31st floor and a view of lake which I must admit made my night every night. The room was clean and very upscale . The gambling left something to be desired. I'm one who loves to laugh about the money I'm losing and have the dealer laugh along with me . Now my girl isn't a big gambler so I didn't gamble all that much this time but the dealers treated it more like a job (which it is) then they did soicalizing like at Bally's or New York New York . The room service was good . The major problem was cocktail waitress's and security. The cocktails were watered down and the girls took along time to get there and they expected a tip the size of at least a 5 to a 10 spot !!!! I do tip very big when the service is entitled as employees at Bally's or Treasure Island could attest but these girls were so full of the job I wouldn't give them more then 2 bucks at a time . The security was just plain RUDE !!!! Once they actually said that I wasn't in the room I said I was staying in . Oh well . I wouldn't stay there again , The Venetian it seems to me was bigger and a better value for the "expensive" feel . I'll be at Mandalay Bay next month . The company is paying for it so I'll give a new review of them next month when I get back

Just back last night from our first visit to the Bellagio. It was fabulous. Everything was perfect and I couldn't find a flaw or recommend a change. The room was incredible. We stayed in a Bellagio Suite and it was so beautiful. The amenities were wonderful and I loved having three bathrooms. The room was spotless, the staff was outstanding and friendly. The food was excellent. The gaming fun, we won, we lost but we had a perfect time and hope to go again soon. We enjoyed it all. And I am telling all my friends that they must get a cone from Palio's and walk around Lake Bellagio during the fountain shows. Then hit Fontana's for some music and fun!

Overall, our visit was enjoyable. A few things I thought I would point out though.....

Upon arrival, we stood in line to check in forever! After finally getting up to our room after walking a mile through the casino, we found our key cards did not work, or at least that is what it seemed. We weren't about to walk all the way back downstairs and stand in line again, so we called down to security. They took their sweet time coming up to let us in. The problem wasn't the cards, but the door was stuck shut. Nice.

The room was beautiful. We had gotten a cheap online rate which gave us a deluxe room with a lake view. Very nice! The bed was comfy, the bathroom was gorgeous!

However, the lights in our wardrobes didn't work and there was black hair covering our bed and on our sheets...gross! The pillows were overstuffed and we woke up with stiff necks the next morning. We called down for some down pillows, which they got to us right away.

Overall a good day, but if we had paid full price for the room, I wouldn't have been a bit upset about the few things that were wrong.

This was our sixth stay at Bellagio. On the surface, it is still one of most beautiful hotels. However, the services seemed not as attentive as before. The reason might be it was New Year holiday when we were there, and the hotel was packed. The spa has been expanded and remodeled. But I personally like the old style better.

My wife and I stayed here when I had a conference here in December. The room was awesome. The cleanliness and turn down service was great. The staff was helpful and friendly. We ate the Bellagio Buffet and Cafe' Bellagio and the food was very good. I would recommend to anyone to spend the extra money and eat at the Bellagio Buffet.

My wife ordered room service and the food was good and the service was friendly.

I left my gaming cards in the safe and the Lost and Found promptly mailed them to me.

Date Visited: 10/04 - Good Visit

Overall the Bellagio is a wonderful experience. My wife and I have stayed there about four times now, and each time we visit Las Vegas, we book at the Bellagio hotel. On most occasions, the service is first rate. The suites have three bathrooms, a small tub (which makes soaking for two an acrobatic feat worthy of any "O" performance), a built-in sauna/shower which is very nice after a long evening of gambling. The restaurants are above average, but not great for the money. For example, a dinner for two at the Le Cirque costs about $250, excluding tip and good wine, but I've had better meals in St. Louis for half as much. Jasmine was actually tasteless Chinese food for about $60 per person, and I would not recommend it. Olives restaurant and Noodles are very good and the fountain view at Olives is mesmerizing. Renoir at the Mirage is outstanding but will cost you about $400 for two with good wine and tip.

The ambience and gaming tables are superior at the Bellagio. The pit bosses, dealers, cocktail waitresses cater to my every wish. I usually bet about $1000 to $2500 per hand on BlackJack and have won or lost up to $30,000 per night, so this explains their attentiveness. However, at times I have been miffed at the lack of services afforded to me. Once I asked for a limo to take my wife downtown and recieved a flat "NO" from the concierge. Needless to say this infuriated me and I considered pulling out to another hotel, but my wife loves the spa, the gardens, the decor, etc. of this hotel more than any other available on the strip today, so it's hard to leave. Upon reflecting, however, I guess Michael Jackson was on the property and needed the limo more than I did.

The guests of the hotel are usually well behaved and polite even when drunk. There was one occasion when a middle aged drunk man kept "hitting" on my thiry-three year old hot blond wife at the BJ tables. The man suggested some vulgarities at the table and was asked by the dealer to either behave or get ejected from the table...He left soon thereafter.

At the end of this trip, all my meals, room rates, small purchases at their stores, and entertainment to shows such as "O", Danny Ganz, Elton John, Celine Dion, etc. were comped in full. The spa fee and tips are never comped, however. I don't consider myself a high roller by any means, as I have witnessed other players with hundreds of thousands of dollars up to half a million dollars betting at the Bellagio. But, I certainly am not a small time fish either. Each successive stay at the Bellagio makes me wonder though if the management at the Bellagio is interested enough in my $50,000 bankroll to make me feel welcome. Someday soon, I think I'll give the WYNN resort a try.

This was my second time staying at the Bellagio and was I ever disappointed. So much so that we checked out 2 hours after arriving and moved to another hotel. Service was non-existant, and when I finally complained to a hotel manager, his attitude was no better. It took a second complaint to a different manager to get a positive response but at this point we were so disgusted we chose to check out and go to another hotel. Never have I been so disappointed in a hotel that I chose to leave after checking in. It was not just one thing, but several that made the entire experience seem like a commedy of errors.

I can't say that I would ever return, as there are several other hotels whose service is far superior such as the Venetian.

We were sent an offer via e-mail for a fountain view room at a special rate of 139 plus tax as i had booked all my accommodation i decided that i would cancel one of the other hotels and give this a try as i really like the fountains. Checkin very quick was given a room on the 9th floor. I asked if this was a good view of the fountains and was told yes. Boy was i dissappointed. acrsoo half the window was a row of concrete pillars so you had to stand up to look over them i set the tv channel to receive the fountain music and got ready to watch well as we were only on the 9th floor you could only see half the main rings in the middle. I called down to reception to ask for a higher room and was told that as i wasn't paying for the view i would have to keep what i was given unless i wanted to pay more for an upgrade. Needless to say i gave him a few choice words which fell on deaf ears. We went out to look around the pool and when we returned the maid had been, when we left there had been some pillows and scatter cussions onnthe floor at the back of a chait these has been put on the bed and were covered in hair, not just one or 2 but 20 or 30. I called house keping and asked that the pillow cases and quilt be changed they said that they would pass it on to a supervisor. When we returned back into the room later that evening the bed had been turned down and the pillows put back on the floor (the same ones) the top sheet and the pillow case on the bed had holes in them. These rooms ghave just been remodelled i think by a member of the adams family they are so dark maybe they have done this so that you cant see all the dirt on the floor. In there deffence i will say that the bathroom is beautiful.

Upon check out i told the receptionist what i thought of this so called five star resort and he was genuinly very shocked she reduced my bill by half and gave me a card to fill out which apparently goes straight to the head of the company, i filled this out whilst i was in vegas and posted it as i still had another 2 weeks of my holliday left. When i arrived back home in enland i had a letter of appology waiting for me with a free suite upgrade on my next visit so i will try them again obviously because of the upgrade. The casino and public areas are really nice its just the rooms that arn't

Wonderful casino property. The staff was kind and helpful, a little snooty to "touristy" guests. The rooms are incredible!!!! They actually sell the bed sets, thats how great they are. Our rooms were comped, so I have no idea what the rates are, but I would have paid atleast 500 a night for the great quality. Another wonderful thing... we went to the pool, ate breakfast, which was about $35pp, and then went and laid out, there was no problem finding lounges. The waitstaff at the pool was also wonderful.

This was my 5th trip to Las Vegas and my first time at Bellagio. The service was first rate as were the rooms, restaurants and pool area. I also believe it would be very difficult to get a room with a bad view; Bellagio is at the center of the strip and the new tower is placed so as not to obstruct the views of guests from either building. There are no doubt better deals on the strip (Monte Carlo is a good example) but if you had to choose between Bellagio and similarly priced hotels on the strip, Bellagio is the way to go.

Bellagio

Date Visited: 06/04 - Good Visit

In general, the Bellagio is still a decent hotel and it makes a good choice for most people. Compared to other properties I've stayed at in Vegas (About 10 in the last 12 years) it still rates as better than average.

My comments are directed more to those people who remember the Bellagio the way it was back when Steve Wynn owned it. Versus that, The Bellagio has clearly slipped and while a nice hotel, it no longer rates on par with other 4 or 5 star hotels. If you are used to your basic Four Seasons or Ritz-Carlton like quality, at one time Bellagio was their equal (maybe even their better) - no more. Rooms are sometimes less than clean, waits for bellman can be long, and room service isn't always prompt or accurate. (I'd also agree that the pool area really needs to be expanded - ESPECIALLY once they open the new tower.)

Why is it different? Ownership for one. The Wynn's ran it as a 3,000 room boutique hotel, MGM runs it like a 3,000 room Vegas hotel. I think much of change can be attributed to the type of crowd they want to attract. It used to be a place for a bit of an older, more established crowd. Now, they discount rooms frequently and make them available to sites that cater to those looking for a rock bottom deal.

I'd also suggest that they now attract a rougher, party crowd because of the Light Nightclub. As one craps dealer told me, they now regularly see fights on the casino floor especially as drunken 20-something leave the club. Interestingly enough, numerous long-time employees told me that they eagerly await the opportunity to go to work for Steve Wynn again. As one dealer said. "When the Wynn's owned it, they'd ask about your family and provide real plates in the employee dining areas. Now, we barely get a hello and we get paper plates."

Certainly, they have every right to run their business as they see fit. It's still a decent place to stay. But, for my wife and I, we'll now no longer stay there without even checking availability and rates at Caesars and the Venetian. Of course, once Wynn Las Vegas opens, we'll eagerly anticipate once again being treated like a valueable guest, instead of a revenue unit.

For a 3000 room hotel, the pool area is woefully inadequate. You either claim your elbow-to-elbow lounge chair before 9:00 AM, or you bribe the attendant. Otherwise, you can't find a place to park at the pools.

When the new tower opens at the end of 2004 with another 749 rooms, it will be a complete fiasco.

we rented a two-bedroom penthouse suite - only because we had my mother-in-law, our toddler daughter (and teenage nephew as "nanny") and another adult niece - so we had 6 the room maximum - the hotel was very nice until the college boys arrived for March Madness - then the pool was a bit too rowdy (and how do they afford to stay here - I guess 4 in a room). Anyway, we took full advantage of the VIP lounge services (fast check-in, bell service, cocktails, continental breakfast, line passes) add on the free limo service to and from the airport - and it almost makes up for the cost of the suite. The fountain view was well worth the extra expense - at least once - another niece and nephew had a newly renovated tower king deluxe which would be a super room for a couple -though it had a lousy view compared to ours but then they could come up to our room and watch the fountains. There's something new called a cypress suite - which I think may be the old Salone Suite

Visted March 2004 from London with my wife and had a great time.

The Lakeview room was definately worth the extra ....the view was tremendous !

The hotel was good however we picked spring break which meant that everything was extremely busy. The only disapointment was that the construction work meant that one of the pools was closed making the pool area extremely busy.

Having said that we had a great time and would definatey go back.
