2nd time this year staying here and it was ALL great! Love this hotel even the smell, though I can

understand how some people who have a distaste for sweet smells would not enjoy it.

I would highly recommend eating at Postrio the food and service were awesome.

This was my 1st stay at The Venetian. I have previously stayed at the Luxor (3x), Paris (1x) and MGM (1x). I was very suprised when I called to inquire about rates and they offered me 4 nights comped from 7/5 to 7/9. I haven't been to Vegas in about 2 years and didn't really gamble that much on my Grazie Card when there. Nonetheless since it was my sister and Aunt on this trip I wanted a large room so that we would not be on top of each other. The Venetian did not disappoint. We arrived at the hotel around 11 AM and was able to check in right away. The clerk at the front desk was very friendly and even accepted the $20 trick to upgrade our room to a high floor with a strip view. She placed us on the 22nd floor overlooking the pool with a view of the strip, TI, Wynn and Fashion Show Mall. The room was very spacious and clean. The sectional sofa was a little worn but nothing disturbing. We called houskeeping to request additional hangers and they were received within 10 minutes. Everything was in working order. We did experience a small problem with the air, however. Upon arrival the room was nice and cool. As we unpacked we started to get a little cold and turned up the thermostat. Later when we returned to the room we lowered the thermostat but the air did not kick on. Still the next morning the air had not come on and I went to play with the thermostat to see if I get it to work to no avail. I called for service and indicated that I smelled a slight burning smell coming from the thermostat and within 5 minutes the there were 5 maintainence men at the door. They fiddled with it for a bit and got the air to kick on and we didn't have a problem the rest of the trip. Overall the hotel was great and would definitley stay here again. They staff was very friendly and responsive to requests.

This was our 4th visit to the Venetian and it continues to be our favorite hotel on the strip. From the time we arrive to the time we leave we are treated royally by the staff. A wide variety of food venues make it affordable for all tastes, while the entertainment possibilities are numerous and among the best on the strip. The rooms are beautiful and well maintained. We didn't have a lot of luck in the casino but it is a busy fun place to play. Can't wait to return to the Venetian.

My husband and I stayed from Nov.8 - 11th and enjoyed every minute of our time there. The rooms are outstanding and the service was very good. Check-in took 2 minutes with a very pleasant person. Never had any trouble getting a drink on the casino floor and the comps have greatly improved. My husband is a Blackjack player and I am always at the slots, both were better than we had remembered from previous visits. We have planned a longer trip this summer for our anniversary, and can't wait to get back to the Venetian!

When we checked in, they didn't have the room we reserved available. The front desk was unhelpful and rude. She wouldn't even give us directions to our room, which was like a maze to get to. We had to take 2 separate elevators! The bathtub had hair from the last guests, which was disgusting. They never sent anyone to re clean when we called. Our room reeked of smoke. The perfume they pump into to casino stinks. I would never stay there again, I would rather stay in a cardboard box on the side of the road, avoid this hotel at all costs!

Stayed 9/8 - 9/10. A very pleasant stay at the Venetian. Used Executive shuttle vans from the airport They were prompt & courteous. I walked right onto one sitting waiting, and rode direct to the hotel, and it took about 5 minutes even including traffic! (the town was BUSY!) No longer than 2 minute wait to check in, and the desk clerk was very accomodating for room view. The Venetian actually doesn't have a lot of strip view rooms because of all of the additions to the building & the Palazzo, but she still did well by me, looking towards the Wynn hotel & it's beautiful golf course. My room was a standard room, and I would be hard pressed to complain. Huge, clean, with more marble in the hallway & bathroom than you could ask for. All the amenities as promised, including those elusive bathrobes! I booked a $129. rate on the web, and after staying in almost every other hotel in Vegas, I can't imagine why I would stay anywhere else, especially at a time when themes are now gone, and even some real dump hotels are still charging $80 and higher for so little. You really need to do your research before choosing your hotel. I had a smile on my face during my entire stay at the Venetian.

Very disappointed with my casino host, made mistakes and cause an embarrassing

situation when my Phantom of the Opera tickets was cancelled on me. Never

acknowledge my arrival, was not available when needed, or provided any personal

service. My casino play rating was faulty and I was charged excessively

the property is very nice. the rooms, restaurants, and amenities are very impressive. the service (esp. housekeeping) and gaming experience were extremely lacking. i checked in 1am on a friday for a weekend trip so that basically gave me a 2 day and 1 night window to play. i played for about 7 hours at $250/hand and had accumulated larger action on prior trips (i did not stay at the resort nor did i spend any comps during my prior trips). long story short, my folio totaled to about $350 and they would not comp anything off the tab! not even a beer! when i inquired about this, the host desk said that i did not play enough to even cover my (comped) room. their policy is to treat each trip individually and disregard any previous comps, etc. when i spoke to a casino marketing host (elizabeth), she condescendingly stated the same and told me to be happy that i won some money and i was in a "5" star resort before she hung up on me! my wife and i looked at each other with our mouths open (i placed her on speaker phone). how can a business, esp. a casino, build loyalty with this kind of policy? according to elizabeth, loyalty is built on service and experience. LOL! how did a person like this get a job in marketing? i was polite and professional during my rounds of complaining. when i called to complain about the rude host, i was directed to...ready for this...CASINO MARKETING. very nice. no wonder their share prices are in the toilet.

side note: avoid the chinese restaurant at the palazzo (jade, i believe) and try the mexican joint in the mall.

side note 2: our shuttle driver to the airport heard our story and said she was not surprised. she apparently has friends at almost every hotel and said the venetian workers are among the unhappiest. they are non-union, they get crappy bonuses, and it shows in their efforts. she said the wynn 'union' workers received $1000 non-taxed bonuses for christmas and the venetian/palazzo workers received something under $100.

next trip, i'll take my business to the wynn and see how that plays out.

Stayed at both the Palazzo and the venetian. We go bout twice year. Love the location, next to the dive hotels, royal and O'shea's.Signed up for the grazie players club years ago. Back around 9/11 when nobody wanted to go to vegas. Was staying at differnt prop at that time, venetian sent offers in the mail for free nights stay. I don't gamble like a highroller. But, I do gamble were I stay. it pays. venetian has been great about keeping me as customer. harrahs has not. too big company now.

The Venetian is a terrific property with a great location, a full suite of amenities, and comfortable rooms. I would definitely stay here again if I felt I wanted to spend the money, and didn't care about the pool area.

There are two pool areas, both of which are very nice. The main pool area has several pools (3-4?) and plenty of lounge chairs. It is nicely decorated and landscaped and provides an isle of serenity in the middle of the strip. If you want a great place to relax and be quiet, this pool is for you. I prefer pool areas with a little more action and fun, but this one is still nice.

The drawbacks to the hotel include incomplete toiletry kits (no mouthwash, razors, etc.) and the pressure sensitive mini-bar. Don't let your kids near that thing! I didn't bring children on this trip (never to Vegas; who does that?) but I could just see me putting something away and then turning around to see my son throwing down a $4 coke.

Overall I would say this is an outstanding hotel and I had a great experience.

Nice room for the money - special offer of $99/night. Excellent front desk staff. $20 trick upgrade was nice. Very clean. Getting a morning coffee for my time at the pool was literally a 1 hour fiasco. They didn't take room charges without ID, even though they had the night before, a couple of places did not accept room charges at all etc. Eventually I was able to get us each one from the bar for a total of $16 w/out tip!! And the best part - it wasn't even good! Valet was exceptionally busy - and we were there on a Monday/Tuesday. We would only stay again if it wasn't so busy.

This was my third visit to Las Vegas in the last 4 years. We selected the Venetian based on my need for comfort with bedding. The bed was decent and the maid service was great. Our suite was very nice, however, I am a travel agent, and told this to the front desk clerk at check in. I expected atleast a strip view, and we got stuck in the VENETZIA tower facing a parking lot. We had our two children with us and the walk was EXTENSIVE from our room to the casino or main lobby. If you have children or bad walking legs, DO NOT let them put you in the VENETZIA tower. This is a seperate building from the main Venetian tower and you will walk your butt off! I think the lady who checked us in should know better than to put families so far away from everything. I will not be staying at Venetian again because of having to stay in that seperate tower with the bad view.

Going to try the Mirage next visit!!

Ok so I arrived about 6 hrs ago. Upon entering our suite I inspected the room & found the following things wrong.

The website states you recieve robes and slippers. Well, there were only the robes hanging in the closet. No slippers. No big deal.

Open the wet bar & someone had leftover food in there. What an awful smell came out of the refrigerator and I had a smoking room. Where there were no ashtrays anywhere in the room. So I called the front desk to complain about the odor in the refrigerator & wanting some ashtrays brought up. Well the woman I spoke with "Amanda" was very rude. She said guest are not allowed to put leftovers in the refrigerator & housekeeping would come to remove it. Also, she'd have ashtrays sent up. Well I came back from dinner & a little gambling & still no ashtrays.

The light in the bathroom is sooooo dark it's a good thing you know where everything is.

Even though I'm a smoker the curtains are filthy dirty with nicotine. When I brought all this up to Amanda & told her this was my first time staying at the Venetian & so far they weren't making a good impression she pretty much told me to stay somewhere else next time. Also, when I came back to my room the TV's both had lousy reception & the closets are wayyyyyyyy too small to accomodate all of clothes and suite cases.

I really don't know if I would stay here again. It is my first night we still have 10 days left here. We'll see if it improves.

Comments are a waste of time in some respects. They are very subjective. If someome living in a cockroach infested shack gets a free trip to the Venetian it will spectacular. If someone is used to 5 star hotels and their prices they might be a little more discerning from having a greater frame of reference and experiences to draw from. I fall in the latter category. I travel extensively and have stayed at approx 15 different hotel/resorts in Vegas in the past 25 years. In each stay the focus was great restaurants and accomodations so those 15 stays are mostly the bigger resorts (as they were built). My last 3 trips were to the Venetian and all were excellent. I have stayed all 3 times in the Venezia Towers in a concierge or spa suite. I would suggest staying there in the off-season because I found the staff to be outstanding when the crowds are low. I havent stayed at Wynn yet (thats our next visit) but I would say the Venetian excels over the Bellagio in many ways. The only thing that is lacking is a bigger casino with more variety.

So if you're thinking about a trip to the Venetian and arent afraid of the prices (which arent any different than any other 5 star) this hotel is for you. If you're the budget conscience type and expect something for nothing in vegas just because its vegas, you should probably stay at the Barbary Coast and you will still be able to enjoy this hotels ammenities because of the proximity.

Stayed four days, saw numerous shows and dined in several casino restaurants. As for the Venetian, the rooms are worth the money, their restaurants are good, but Valentino?s was the best. We ate at Delmonico?s but you can?t beat a Texas steak in Austin. Best show by far, Gordie Brown, better than Rich Little. Unfortunately, their Player's Club is not worth the effort; unless you plan to mortgage the farm, don't worry about comps, 5K in losses won't even get you a postcard.

My overall experience was great, but I was lucky enough to have a comp VIP deal. My first suite was a regular suite, but the air conditioning was inadequate. There were only 2 A/C ducts for the whole suite, which is not enough during July. They sent maintenance to work on the problem, and maintenance said that the A/C filters were clogged, which was only part of the problem. They then moved me to an extra-large suite that had 4 A/C ducts, and the filters were freshly changed. If I wasn't VIP, I don't know whether they would have done this. Given that even the regular suites typically cost $599 or more per night, I think that they should make 100% sure that the A/C filters are changed regularly, both to minimize air flow problems and to protect allergy sufferers. Also, several friends of mine who have previously stayed at the Venetian have complained about inadequate A/C in the regular suites. All that being said, after I was moved to the extra-large, my stay was great. The service was the best I've ever had, the gaming area was large, but comfortable, and the bars, club (Tao) and restaurants were great. The only drawback is that the pool is so surrounded by the Venetian's walls that it doesn't get much sunlight. I've seen other reviews compaining about the location, but it's essentially across the street from TI and Mirage, and not that long a walk to Aladdin and Bellagio.

Although this hotel is beautiful and has some of the best restaurants in Vegas, I'd have to recommend that you stay some where else, unless you enjoy being gaged with perfume. The management of this property seems to believe that pumping perfume in the air of the casino will cover that nasty cigarette stench. They are wrong. This casino smells like a chain-smoking old lady wearing far too much dime-store perfume. It's horrible, gaging and burns my throat. I like this hotel but avoid stepping foot in it just to avoid the lovely scent of rose pedals and cigarettes.

I stayed at the Venetian in late August. I was comped for my birthday. I was there with my two daughters and we had a wonderful time. The suite was lovely, clean and quite comfortable. The detail to this hotel is fantastic. I have stayed in many hotels over the years in Las Vegas and by far, this was my most memorable visit. The staff at the front desk is to be commended on their efficiency, and pleasant service. The restaurants are fantastic, and the choices are endless. I like the food court right off the casino if you need a snack, it's a great idea and more hotels should have them. The Venetian is for everyone, even people passing through who are not staying there. If you get the chance, stay...Treat yourself, you won't be sorry. The casino could be improved on, choices on machines are limited compared to other properties, but hopefully I earned enough points to return for another comped visit in the future.

The casino was huge, but there wasn't anything really fun about it. It's a very nice property, but as soon as you enter into the site, the scent is overwhelming. They seem to try to mask the smell of smoke by pumping in an obnoxious scent that smells like cheap perfume that is overwhemlming. I'm not very sensitive to scents, but this one whas horrible and made it so that we couldn't stay there to play much.

The casino is so huge that it was easy to get lost. The table minimums were too high for me when we were there. A few of the minimums were $25 and $50, but most were at $100.

The property is beautiful, but the stinch from the crappy airfreshener was enough to not make me go back.

Hands down the nicest room I have ever stayed at in Vegas. Not even close. Bear in mind that I haven't stayed in every joint on the Strip(Luxor tower and Pyramid,Mandalay Bay standard and Honeymoon suite,Rio,Hooters, and the IP) so take what I say with a grain of salt. Paid $149 a nite for 2 nites. Rooms were fabulous. Superior to Mandalay Bay's Bridal Suites although the bathrooms are nicer at MB(for what thats worth). Room service is verrry expensive as is most everything here. If you haven't read other reviews, keep your hands OFF the mini bars. Did have a meal at the bakery in the Canal Shops (Tintorino's?) which was surprisingly reasonable ($24 for three breakfasts). Didn't even bother attempting to play table games in the casino (except to redeem the $25 matchplay coupons) as I am a $5-10 guy. I look at it this way: to get a room as nice as the one at the Venetian, you would have to stay in a suite at the other places I have stayed at. If you can get your room at the Venetian for $149 like I did, its a pretty good deal (a big IF I know). If I can get my room for that rate I would happily stay at the Venetian again.

We visit Las Vegas at least once a year and this was our first stay at the Venetian. We stayed in the Venezia Tower in a Terrazo suite. The room was great...authentic decor with a private terrace over looking the gardens. The staff was extremely friendly and the hotel was beautiful. We have stayed at many of the hotels in Vegas and the service we received at the Venetian was by far the best. The food and atmosphere was great. Our stay could not have been more perfect. We will most definitely stay at the Venetian again.

If I had been able to choose where we stayed durring our visit to Las Vegas in August 2005, I would have chosen "The Venetian". I did make sure that I got a chance to see it though, and I absolutly LOVED it! I felt as though I was really in Italy, and I spent as much time there as I could. To those who think this is not a family friendly hotel, they are so wrong. My two year old daughter and I really enjoyed the authentic entertainment, and the gondoliers passing by and the entertainers were WONDERFUL in acknowledging her. Our gondolier even sang a few childrens' songs for her. My time spent at the Venetian was definatly my favorite and most memorable time in Las Vegas. If I ever go to Las Vegas again, I will for sure stay at the beautiful, realistic and romantic Venetian.

The check in was quick and courteous. The room was beautiful with a great view. We asked for a fridge and received one quickly at no charge. That's where it ended.

I found the remaining time spent with service that was surprisingly not up to such a hotels reputation.

UPDATE 4/2/06

Going back to Vegas and staying at the Mirage, I purchased 2 tickets for The Blue Man Group at the Venetian. Today, I received an e-mail saying the show I had tickets for was cancelled. I contacted the box office via e-mail for assistance and in less than 24 hours they gave me tickets to another show - with better seats. While the my first visit was not to my standards, the excellent service I just received from John L-D was enough to invite me back the next time I stay in Vegas.

I booked thru priceline @ $99 for 1 night. Even though it was nice, I don't think it's worth the money... even at $99. It could have been that maybe us Priceline customer get the oldest, dirtiest rooms. Everything in there looked very old.. the bed, couch, carpet.

And the walk from parking to the room is so far.

I and my cousin booked our stay at the Venetian about four months in advance with a travel agent in Iowa city Iowa we were there from 10 july to the 14 july 2005 . We had booked a room with 2 beds but on our arrival and when we entered the room we found only one bed, when I went back to the Desk I was told that our travel agent had only booked one bed. There was a sofa in the room that could be used as a bed but they ( the Hotel ) never came to turn it down. On monday I called our travel agent at 6 vegas time and he said he had indeeded booked a room with 2 beds, and he would call the hotel. He called back in about a hour and said that a group had booked 2000 rooms and would be given first prioity and there probably would not be a room while we were there. Never once did the hotel say they were sorry or even offer a comp on monday the maid was in the room about 3 in the afternoon and we had to ask her to turn the sofa down and she said she did'nt know she was suppose to. We did get a call from our travel agent on wed. and it showed a room with 2 beds would be avaiable if we wanted to move which we did. the corporation that had booked all of the rooms had people tell us that they had one person staying in rooms with 2 bed its too bad we couldnt have gotten together. By booking 4months early 15 march 2005 I would have thought that would have been enough time but I guess not. the as amenities are very nice and maybe you might have a better experiance.

I have stayed at most of the upscale Strip hotels, and the Venetian does not compare well to the Bellagio, Mandalay/THEHotel, or even Paris. Most of my problem with the resort is inept service. I've been offered several complimentary nights since our stay, but I can't get excited about returning because I felt as if my satisfaction was unimportant to the staff.

The rooms are spacious, but I was a bit disappointed in the layout. Our room was dark, with a view of the parking structure. It is long and narrow and crammed with too much furniture. Decor was not bad but nothing special.

There is a selection of restaurants, although our experiences were not that great. In particular, the Cafe was not a pleasant experience. It is very noisy and crowded, the hostess was one of the most unprofessional and rude people I've ever met and the waitresses are too busy to provide any real service. Food was hit and miss (burned bread on my sandwich, rubbery cold eggs, nice chefs type salad.) Portions are certainly generous though. We also ate at Canaletto. The waiter was creepy, and the food was not exceptional. Wine was ridiculously marked up.

The casino is small and uninteresting.

I was treated rudely at check in, by the bell desk, and by casino cashier. I am not a complainer, nor am I demanding, but every time I asked a question, pointed out an error on my room category, bill or other room issue, my question or comment was met with a surly adolescent type of response that essentially was "tough luck" in hotelspeak. ("That is all we have available" "That isn't what my record says" "I can't help you with that." "We are too busy to deal with that right now." "Come back later." etc.)

Every request to housekeeping was either unfilled, or filled a day late. The common areas are pretty, and I'd recommend a sightseeing trip through the resort and Grand Canal area. But I'd never stay there again.

The first day we were here we were napping in our "already cleaned" room. Maid service barges in, they did not even knock. I woke both of us up and I immediately called the hotel manager to complaine. I asked him why is room service coming into our room, it has been cleaned. He could not answer the question and just said he will call the house keeping manager to let them know this happeded.

The second night we were there we had a semi-formal dinner to go to. We were with my husbands company in which he had sent over 300 of his employees to to Vegas to stay at this terrible hotel. Anyways.... It was 7:30 pm when we left for dinner and I had changed my necklace and layed it on the vanity, not even thiking twice about any problem I may have leaving it in the open, my room had already been cleaned and was concerned at that time about anyone entering my room that late. When we got back to our hotel room, nothing looked out of place, but I did not notice my necklace to be gone until the next morning and $25.00 cash missing out of my luggage. Stupied me yes I know better than leaving things out, but I totally felt safe at "The Finest Hotel" WHATEVER!!! I reported this and it took them 3 weeks to notify my my mail...WIMPS! No one would ever talk to me about what happend, they would only tell me it was under investigation and it was not liberty for them to tell me if this happens at their hotel on a regular basis. Ok, to the finale.... Heres the letter:

Dear Mrs.......

We have investigated the aformentioned matter. We are sorry to hear of the above stated incident and hope your overall visit to the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino was enjoyable.

While we sincerely regret your loss, our review of the matter indicates a lack of negligence on behalf of the hotel. We apologize as our perspectives surrounding the cause of this matter are so diparate.

Based upon the results of the investigation, the reason for this unfortunate happenstance was not the failure of the unmatched service standards of the The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino. As your are aware, there was an in-suite safe readily available. Secondly, we are unaware of any unauthorized entries into the suite. In actuality, there were not any Venetian Resort Hotel Casino team member entries to the suite while you were napping. Finally, there were not any complaints of defects of the suite.

Consequently, we are not in a position to accept responsiblity for this indicent and respectfully reject your request for reimbursement and/or compenstation.

Due to the aformentioned, we recommend seeking indemnification under your homeowners insurance policy.

Should you have any additional information that would have direct bearing upon this matter, please forward it to us, for our promt and thorough consideration.

Thank you for your anticpated cooperation in this matter.

WOW!!!!!!!! They are calling me a liar!!! WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! DO NOT STAY HERE AND PLEASE ADVISE EVERYONE YOU KNOW NOT TO STAY HERE! I was freaking in the room when maid service barged in that first day and the hotel is telling me that that did not happen. It happened I even call hotel management to complain! They are covering up and trying to protect the reputation of the hotel. I do not think they even investigated my situation. I am really sad that this has happened. I am a brand new mom and it was my very first ruby necklace of the birthstone of my daughter. I know I am at fault, but the way the way the hotel handled it is way out of line. The necklace was only $175.00, I was honest with them throughout the entire report and they have been nothiing but dishonest and I will never stay there again and hope the company that my husband works for will do the same.

This is an excellent hotel and it has the largest standard rooms on the Strip. Even the basic rooms contain a bedroom and large, step-down living room along with a huge bathroom.

The rooms feel quite big and luxurious, and the attractive blue and yellow bedding and decor really adds to their appeal. There are a number of other things that are great about the Venetian.

See the following streaming video page.(Copy and paste please)

Enjoy great performers at Venetian!

http://kenko-supplement.com/vegascafe-english-Venetian-grand%20canal.htm

The shopping and dining are both excellent. Lutece is very elegant, Pinot Brasserie has exceptional cuisine and Grand Lux Cafe is a great place for casual dining.

The Venetian also serves gelato (I make repeat trips for the gelato during my stays). The lower level has a large array of stores for shopping, including BCBG, Banana Republic, Movado and Lladro.

There is also a large Sephora store at The Venetian. The canal that runs though The Venetian is quite charming, and if you're at the hotel with a significant other, it's fun to take a ride on the gondolas. Otherwise, you can stand near the canals and listen to the gondoliers sing as they sail by. I highly recommend The Venetian to anyone traveling to Las Vegas!

Stayed at the new Venezia tower. The comments about the maze is sadly true. I just remembered where to turn by remembering the wall art. The wall art, by the way, is just very, very nice. The rooms are way spacious . The furnishings are top-notch but are starting to show their age. Half the knobs are loose and may just fall off if you are not careful. The calcium build-up around the faucets was quite noticeable. The dust on top of the tall armoire was getting thick. While I'm by no means a neat freak, I think the Venetian can work harder on presenting the illusion that we are the first occupants of the room we are renting. Still none of these take away from a very pleasant stay.

PERSPECTIVE

Ratings are only as meaningful as what you are comparing things to. To provide some better understanding of my rating comments, you need to understand that I have stayed at several strip hotels over the few years and numerous visits to Las Vegas. Because I am consdidered a high roller at many casino's, I get comped at many properties, so the value equation is something I cannot comment on, however, I have seen so many properties for comparison and that is the main basis for my ratings and comments. I have stayed at the Venetian more than 16 times but have also stayed at the Aladin, Mirage, MGM, Bellagio, Paris, Ballys, Ceasars, Causarina, Harrahs, Luxor, Treasure Island, Hilton Vegas and Mandalay Bay in addition to The Venetian. Wynn just opened while I was staying at the Venetian my most recent trip on the 27-29th, but I tried to stay away from the massive heards of cattle and rather enjoyed the consistency of the Venetian, so Wynn is out of this comparison.

VENETIAN

The Venetian stands out above all other Vegas Strip hotels I have stayed for numerous reasons, and for that matter is one of the premier hotels in the world. I have stayed at hundreds of high end hotels over the years all over the country and world and what puts the Venetian at the top of the world stage is the fact that there is no similar hotel environment like the Venetian anywhere else and regardless of how exclusive, costly, decorated or ornate other hotels like The Ritz, Four Seasons, Waldorf, Park, etc., The Venetian blows them away in and of itself along with the unique surroundings and location.

ROOMS

The rooms are of course elegant, all quality materials are used with marble, granite, rich and expensive fabrics, carpets, drapes, etc. The furniture with fine dark wood armoires, desks and tables, leather and plush fabric sofas and chairs and high end bedding provide tasteful design and comfortability without being tacky or overdone as you will find with many well known strip or other hotels. Comfort, cleanliness and quality are at their highest levels. The suites have a grand feel of luxury with high ceilings, open space with a sunken living area with no partition and expansive tinted windows allowing for spectacular views of the Strip, grounds and mountains beyond.

CASINO

One of the main reasons I frequent the Venetian is not the elegant rooms, the comfort, the ammenities or even the service, all of which are superb. The real reason is the casino is excellent and very underated for its play. The high ceilings, floor plan and room to maneuver on the floor are a huge plus for comfort when gambling. There are many private salon like areas where masses of drunken tourists do not wander and where security is high. The gaming is excellent and I have been very "lucky" on a more consistent basis at the Venetian in comparison with most all other casinos mentioned above. The odds on high dollar slots is fair, reasonable and among the best anywhere, which is what a high roller is looking for....a confidence of fairness. One cannot guarantee luck or wins, but one must know a property has set odds fairly and I have observed this with the Venetian. While I have lost on stays here, I have also won significant payouts on other stays, walking out with 10's of thousands, more than a couple times.

SERVICE

Host service, attention and comps if you deserve them are unbeatable. The professional relations of the staff are noticable compared to other casino hosts I have dealt with, who can get rather seedy, pushy and nosy. The Venetian hosts are accomodating, sincere and really strive to make you comfortable and treat you right, simple as that. I have had only one incident upon late arrival (1:30AM) with a delayed flight (8 hrs from Boston) which added to my irritability. The night shift desk clerk at check in (VIP was closed) did not know about my comped accomodations, dissapeared in the back room for 10 minutes and had to call a covering host upon my query of the room rates he was charging me. My host the next day more than took care of the problem the next day and they have been extremely accomodating to me since on subsequent visits as well. They are the most generous of all casinos I have experienced and I in turn provide them with frequent returns and my usual high level of play.

SECURITY

This is one of the most important aspects of your stay at a hotel in Vegas, yet most people do not consider this at all. Even though properties on the strip are in a safe location, it is inside the hotels and casinos where problems occur often. In all my visits to casinos, there have been numerous instances where drunk and disorderly groups or individuals get too close...and when you have a pocket full of money and want to concentrate on your play, you do not want to be harrassed by gawking drunk onlookers. The hotel itself has tight security to the room levels and even more so, I have always observed security guards patrolling the hallways. The hotel itself is quite and there is ample sound proofing between rooms.

DINING

The Venetian has by far the widest selection of the best restaurants on the strip. While you can find great restaurants all throughout the strip, like at Ceasars, Paris, Bellagio, etc., these eateries are generally in very touristy, or very busy locations in the casino and there are mobs and lines of people which detract from the dining experience. At the Venetian, the better restaurants are out of the way and more on the fringe of the tourists and activity, allowing for a more peaceful experience. The hosts have always accomodated my dining needs and even when busy, have gotten me reservations. Comping expensive meals, wine and room charges are the norm, if you play to those levels and unlike many casinos, you don't have to ask for every charge or itme to be comped, they always offering and are more generous than other casinos, which makes a big difference in where my play goes.

SUMMARY

I rate The Venetian as my most favorite hotel-casino in the world, bar none.

Rooms - quality, clean, comfort, size, tasteful, view, feel

Service - generous, sincere, gracious, professional, accomodating, available

Casino - reasonable, fair, consistent, spacious, security

Security - high level, presence and visibility, sense of privacy

Location - exactly where you want to be on the strip

Dining - variety, exceptional quality, select wine, convenience, comfort, privacy

My second time at the Venetian. Stayed in the Venezia tower both times.

The rooms are grand. The walk to almost anywhere is long.

A major gripe was we stayed on the 4th floor. The room was at the end of a wing. The only available ice was at the end of the main hallway at the other end of the floor. They had one ice machine on the whole floor and it seemed like a block walk. You walk far enough in Las Vegas as it is, an additional trek to your room and then for a bucket of ice was frustrating.

I stayed at the Venetian for the first time last week and had a great stay. Their suites are very large. The bathrooms are also very large and beautifully made of marble. They have double vanities and a separate bath and shower. The bed was soft enough but the view out our large window was poor. I guess we had a room on the wrong side of the hotel. The food is pretty expensive anywhere you go in the hotel, with the exception of The Grand Lux Cafe. The food was good, reasonably priced and they have a great breakfast buffet. Overall, I would rate this hotel at 5 stars. The accomodations and service were excellent! I will definitely be staying there again!

This was my 12th trip to Vegas. It was also my favorite. This was in large part due to where we stayed. We stayed in the Venezia tower of the Venetion on the concierge level. The level of service was phenomenal. Unlike another reviewer we DID get slippers. One charactaristic one notices almost immediately that's unlike anywhere else I've stayed in Vegas (including Bellagio and Mandalay Bay)is that there are no loud, drunken idiots cruising the hallways at 3 AM. Security is incredible. Even if there were idiots in the hallway, the doors are so heavy and insulated that you probably wouldn't hear them. We didn't even hear water running. We didn't mind the long walk either. The separation from the casino and other public areas assures you of privacy and quiet when you want it. The casino staff was friendly and accommodating. The comps were very generous. My only gripe is a minor one. There should be more closet space. If you are planning to stay more than a couple of nights you might want to bring more folding than hanging clothes. The bottom line is that I see no reason to stay anywhere else at this point.

We stayed here for 3 nights in late December. We paid $185 per night using Priceline but had I waited I could have gotton it cheaper through the website up to a week earlier (around $150). However it was as nice as we hoped. We spent the first night in the 'old' towers which were wonderful but by asking were able to upgrade to the Venezia Towers at extra charge. Beautifully appointed rooms with art on the walls, rich fabric over the beds and windows, a large glass shower and a nice bathtub along with a dual sinks. And the rooms are quiet. They say you never spent much time in your rooms in Vegas but we made a point to enjoy ours. True it was a maze to walk from the casino to the rooms but it is a beauiful walk with marble and beauitful walls and ceilings - it was my nicest visit of the 12-13 visits I've made to Vegas. The one casino I still want to visit is the Bellagio.

I am a rated player at the Venetian and my last two stays were comped full RFB.

Things I like about the Venetian:

-- Exquisite, romantic rooms.

-- Other romantic touches like gondola rides, great restaurants.

-- Good room service.

-- Printer/fax machine in rooms.

-- Convenient self parking.

-- The pools and jacuzzi.

Things I wish were different:

-- Was quoted $399/night, weekdays for an extra (mother-in-law) room.

-- The new Venezia tower has overcrowded the place and you can't get near any of the restaurants except for the (blech!) food court.

-- Even with my level of play I could not get a line pass (a privilege I enjoy at many other clubs). I was told the qualifications for a "Gold card" are a $25,000 credit line and $500 average bet.

-- High speed Internet worked only sporadically.

-- You need to change the name of the "Tsunami Asian Grill."

We stayed at The Venetian Nov. 9,10,11, and as usual enjoyed the pampering. This year we had to stay in the new Venezia Tower...there are good and not so good comments about Venezia. First if you have a problem finding your way through a maze....maybe you should skip Venezia and opt for Venetian. One of the girls in our group was so lost she would not go anywhere without someone to guide her. I had no problem...we had a beautiful view of the pools and garden, and the room was very nice. Most people think Casino is tight...but again we were winners and had great service in all areas. We will be back in Feb.The beds are to die for and vacation is to be pampered!!!

Great rooms and Great service. The only problem with this resort is as others have commented, BE PREPARED TO WALK. Since there was no coffee maker in the suite, I decided to take a stroll down to the mall area to grab some coffee. Thirty minutes later I returned to the room after taking no time to do anything but walk there and back. They should seriously think about installing some people movers. My wife said the spa tower had great workout stuff and services ( I got all my exercise walking :) ) Overall, we thought it was the nicest resort on the strip and would definitely stay there again.

These are the nicest rooms i have stayed in Vegas, however, it doesn't quite live up to the palacial expectations one has after hearing everybody go on about it. We scored our room for $101 on Priceline, but when we got there, had to pay an extra 35 bucks per night for 2 beds. That's ok, cuz we made up for it several times over in plush embroidered terry cloth bath robes swiped from the closets. teach them to charge us extra. they did however, give us a strip view room. pretty nice.

I stayed in the new Venezia tower. There were some good things about it, but many bad things that made my stay annoying.

Good things: Rooms were attractive, spacious and clean. Tasty chocolates left at turndown service.

Bad things: I had to go through three different elevators and what seemed like a mile of hallways to get from the parking garage to my room. No closed partition between the sleeping and living quarters of the "suite," so I wouldn't call it a real "suite." Bathrobes did not include slippers to protect from the ice-cold marble that covers the entire bathroom floor. The door stuck so badly that I first had new keys issued, then called security to open it for me. Parking was sometimes a hassle, with 30-minute plus traffic jams just to get in and out.

Our entire group was very pleased with our 4 day stay at the Venetian. The rooms were exquisite and HUGE. The service was top notch. We booked 5 rooms for a corporate trip. My husband and I checked in around 8:00 Friday morning. With the help of the wonderful woman at the front desk we were all checked in our rooms by 10 AM!! AND all the rooms were 1 to 2 doors from each other (per our request). I went to the salon and had some treatments there and my husband and the rest of the group went to the spa for treatments. We were all treated with the utmost respect and care. Went and did a little shopping here too. This too was first class. I felt like royalty during our stay. This is definitely a resort we'd stay at again. My husband says he'll never stay anywhere else again.

Stayed here for my honeymoon. Payed $170 a night which we felt was a bargain compaired to the usual $300+. Everything was great but we felt that in the future we will probably stay at the Flamingo or Hilton b/c of the price. I was going to do the $20 thing but they gave us a Strip view on the 22nd floor so I put my money away. The gondola ride was over priced for the 15 or so minutes but again it was our honeymoon so we didnt really care.

I arrived at the Venetian hotel on Saturday, July 31, 04 at 11:00 p.m. to find out(after waiting 20 minutes on line) that the Suite that I prepaid $391.00 was not available. The reservation was confirmed and billed to my American Express card a week earlier. Unfortnately, the hotel informed me that they overbooked and sometimes oversell the rooms (just like airlines). Furthermore, my family and I would have to sleep in a courtesy room on rollaway beds. The hotel and casino staff appear to be very inexperienced and unknowledgeable. The service at the restaurants is very slow. The hotel allowed for a $150.00 food credit to make up for the mixup. However, I did not think it was reasonable compensation in exchange for a $391.00 Suite.

Fortunately, I was booked the next few nights at the Bellagio where upon my early arrival 10:00 am. My room was ready !! There was no line or wait when I checked in. Each time I visit the Bellagio, I am more impressed with the service and the extra mile that every employee goes for their guests. This resort deseves and earns every one of the 5 Stars it gets. Do yourself a FAVOR !!! Spend the money at the Bellagio. The staff and service at the Bellagio restuarants, casino, and hotel make the Venetian look like a Super 8 motel.

I went for 4 days and stayed in the "cheap suite" anyways from the moment I rolled up I was given great attention . The bag boy saw there was a line and walked me and my girl to the other check in area where we were done in about 3 minutes !!!! I walked us up to the room and also showed us where everything was . I called room service and requested a frige and it was at my room in 5 minutes . During my stay we were left alone and no problems . I have no idea what the others here are talking about but the service was great with a phone call I had whatever I needed. On the day we left I called for help with the baggage , they asked what time I need a guy there and I said 11:30 ..... Well 11:29 there he was at my door . The room was awesome with a view of the strip North side with a view from Treasure Island down .... This was by far the best expereince I have ever had at a resort . Thanks guys and good job .

great rooms but pricy. no coffee pot in room as the website states. room service again. staff only fair. another of the too large mega resorts. high table stakes & tight slots. go out the front door and turn left to gamble and eat!! might as well park in the grand canyon as far as the walk to the garage. they like to make it too much trouble to go anywhere else. elegant but way over value. many many better deals in town.

Great place!!

Rooms are nice and large and had everything but a Jucuzzi tub.

THE CASINO!!!!! Slots were the greatest in vegas if you're not greedy.

Play 20 in a dollar slot, after 1-4 pulls you have 30-40, cash out and go to the next machine. Did this for three hours and was about even for the session!!

Next time I went, have 2 jackpots of $1,200 and $900, and the attendents were there to give you the money in 2-3 minutes... even at 3:00 in the morning!!!!

The drink Hostesses were the most beautiful of ANYWHERE in ALL of Las Vegas... and I'm not kidding, hit all the other casinos on the strip and Downtown... no comparison anywhere!!!

The food court was very convenient. Take the elevator down, walk a few steps and you can get anything from a cup of coffee to a whole fast food breakfast.

The tables were somewhat cool with $15 minimums day and night. Try the Imperial Palace or the Palms for more fun while you watch your mone being

"utilized"

Overall, a great stay, will be back soon!!

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for three wonderful nights and days. It reminded us of the many times we visited Venice. We lived near Venice for four years and visited there often. We have stayed at many hotels around the world (Europe, Asia and the USA)in our 43 years of marriage but this one is the BEST!!!!The rooms/suites are immaculate and furnished with only the highest qualty items. When we did have a minor problem wiht a lamp, but it was attended to promptly and followed up by management to make sure it was fixed. The shower and bathroom amenites/fixtures/walls and floors were very European and examples of the best that Italy has to offer. The restaurants even had authentic uniforms from Italy as well as authentic table items and lamps. We ate in Canaletto (the best) and Zeffirino. The entire hotel staff is FRIENDLY as are the shops/food employees. The lobby and other common areas featured beautiful chandeliers and paintings. We also visited the interesting art museum that is located in the hotel as well as many of the shops. The Concierge is very knowledgeable and helped us wiht our short trip to the nearby Hoover Dam. Complementary valet parking added a touch of class. We are not world-class gamblers but did play the slots and broke even. Try the special European breakfast delivered to your room with a newspaper in 10 minutes. Experience service with a smile and class. Last but not least we took a gondola ride inside the hotel in the grand canal and overall took away great memories of the hotel. Grazie Venetian!!

Hotel caters to a upscale cliental. The suites were nice but not very functional if you wern't with a group. A couple of warnings, watch the elevators as the doors have a tendency to close on you. The pool area has no shade unless you rent a cabana $150 - 300 / day. Additionally the pool area gets very slippery when wet, go figure. Despite their room rates they seem to nickle & dime you i.e. the additional charge for phone calls, a mini bar that will charge you if you breath on it. There was no refrigerator in the room, probably to low class. Plan on taking out a loan if you plan on eating here other than the 24hr place. LUNCH for 2 was $150.00 at Delmonico's but it was excellant

Absolutely gorgeous suites in an extraordinary hotel. The Canyon Ranch Spa was superb with plenty of options. Our host treated us like royalty. The meal at Emeril's was okay but we were stuck in the smoking area which was awful. The Grand Lux Cafe has the largest and most varied menu I've seen in a Coffe Shop. That expression is a misnomer as some fine restaurants I've been in are not as nice.

I rated the value pretty high but that's because of some really killer hotel/airline deals that are so reasonable that it's like getting the hotel for free. It was the nicest place we've ever stayed. It's beautiful, it was extremely clean and well maintained. We visited mid-week and the crowds were not bad at all. We don't really gamble (gambling less than $25 during our visit) but we did notice that the table limits seemed high compared to some of the other places. The decor was wonderful, truly stunning. We stayed in the Venezia tower and it was quite a walk to get from there to the grand canal shoppes. It was a long way to the garage till we figured out which elevators to take.

I read about tipping the desk clerk $20 to upgrade and it worked!!! We had booked and paid for a standard room and were upgraded to the Bella suite in the new Venezia tower which of course added to my perception of the value of the hotel stay.

I stayed here 12/21-26/03. I loved this property. The room was very nice, with a partial view of the Strip, even though I didn't pay the $35/night "Strip View" upgrade. The room was wonderfully spacious (even though my particular room is the "smallest" one the Venetian offers), and the bathroom was enough to make even a Roman aristocrat green with envy. The restaurants at the Venetian are terrific (one of the best steaks I've ever had in my life at Delmonico's, and a couple of great meals at Postrio's). The Canyon Ranch Spa has the nicest fitness center in all of Las Vegas, but you don't have to be a guest of the hotel to use the facilities (in fact, hotel guests don't even get a discounted rate). Be advised that the casino tends to have pretty high table limits, tough to find a spot at $25 table at night. There were tons of kids while I was there, undoubtedly because of the holidays, but probably also because the Venetian's rooms are so large. A family of four can stay comfortably in a standard room without tripping over one another. As much as I enjoyed staying here, I don't know if it's worth the money. Since the only thing hotel guests get to enjoy that nonguests don't, besides the room obviously, is the pool, why not stay at Harrah's next door for half (or less) the price, then walk over to the Venetian and enjoy a fancy meal/spa treatment/shopping spree with all the money you saved?

Venetian is a grand resort to visit and admire. The rooms are nice as could be desired, and except for a few gripes (non-working fixtures) get high marks.

Too bad the facility caters to huge convention crowds, as it diminishes the quality of the visit. Bellagio has a more exclusive feel because of this, and we much prefer the more relaxed, classier stay the Bellagio affords. Several resorts actually offer a more relaxed visit than Venetian. The clientele' would not afford the stay here if it weren't for their company paying for the convention visit. Plenty of Rubes & Red-necks running their yappers a bit too loudly. Restaurants are overly expensive and there are long, LONG walks to parking and rooms. Its a loud, conjested place with a traffic nightmare at the drive-thru entry area. The (sometimes rude) attendants won't let you wait for a few moments, even tho' there is adequate space for short-time parking.... they insist that you drive around in circles until you're party is ready to load... which contributes to the driving congestion. The casino won't open Blackjack tables for under $15 (many are $25 min.) and it takes a long time to get in and out of a Grand Lux Cafe breakfast visit. Long lines and slow service are the main problem here too. Our visit was from Jan 4-9, 2004 and we left feeling rushed, hustled about and overall not enjoying the stay as much as we had hoped for. Probably will not visit this resort again.

My wife and I stayed here due to the $119/night rate we were able to obtain on the Venetian website. WE stayed 3 nights and the room was everything we expected and matches the room they show on their website. It was probably one of the nicest rooms I have ever stayed in. As far as the casino I highly recommend you gamble elsewhere, like next door at the Casino Royale. The Venetian Casino table limits are so high, like $25 minimums even in the early mornings. Go next door to the Casino Royale and play 0.25 Roulette and $1 craps and have just as much fun. I didn't spend one dollar in the Venetian Casino due to high limits.
