The pool closes at 8pm! Both days we were there our children couldn't use the slide due to not enough staff; which we were upset becuase the pool is one of the main ammenities we look at. The food was horrible at the Coffee Shop and at the Greens Buffet. The overall service was disatifying. The staff acted like they really didn't want to be there!

The best thing about Whiskey Pete's is the Silver Spur steakhouse...an excellent experience every time we have eaten there...the service is great, the food is great...my kudos to the new manager Mike, and to all the staff including the waiters Randy and Joe...and the cooks...don't change a thing! The worst thing is the slow service everywhere else in the hotel-casino. It took me an average of a half-hour each morning to get a cup of coffee in the MacDonalds. The buffet had almost no choices...it was terrible. The coffee shop wasn't much better. I had one slot machine malfunction, and the "floor" employees seemed to walk the other way! I had to leave the machine to find someone to fix the problem! Except for the Silver Spur, I would give this establishment a "thumbs-down."

Ive Stayed Here Many Times. Its A Great Place For 25 Dollars A Night. Its Not A Jucuzzi Suite But For The Money Its Worth It! There Lots Of Places For Kids To Have Fun. I Won Some Money At The Casino Across The Street (buffalo bills) But None At Petes. The Pool Is Awesome So Is The Spa. Great Affordable Food. LOVE THE PLACE.... GREAT VALUE... ONLY 40 MILES FROM VEGAS!!!!

I was GREATLY disappointed by my stay here. We'd hoped to have a nice time outside the hustle & bustle of Las Vegas, & I got suckered in by cheap rates, but found this to be woefully inadequate, in big & small things. Stay here at your own risk. In no particular order:
What should have tipped me off was my first experience. There's a line up at hotel registration; one of the only 2 tellers is told to close the station they're at & move to another one, meaning a further delay. Absolutely no reason for this, they took their entire cash drawer w/ them, but had to waste our time closing down one machine & starting up another one to simply move one station over.
Then, going to my room, I noticed a sign -- "Outdoor pool closed for seaon" (this was off-season, in Oct.) -- & underneath it "spa open 24 hours". I had to ask 3 different people to even find out what the "spa" was. First person "had never heard of it", 2nd didn't know, finally go in touch w/ someone who explained that the "spa" was simply the whirlpool next to the pool, & it was closed for the season. THIS IS A SPA?
I'd also arranged w/ the hotel, far in advance, to have a package delivered by UPS. Found out the correct address & the way it was supposed to be addressed for a guest. After I got there, however, it took several days to even find out the package had been refused by the hotel staff, & never got an adequate explanation on why. And, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE was in charge. EVERYBODY in management was absent (or, maybe, they're just absent when you have a complaint).
I left messages for the people supposedly in charge. No one ever attempted to contact me, no one did a thing regarding this.
Light bulbs burned out in room. They did get changed after a day & 2 calls.
The "best" buffet of the 3 available (all 3 casinos are the same management) was mediocre, at best. Seating in the cafe at dinner time had an hour wait -- even tho this was the off season, & even tho there were plenty of table open.
As a consequence, I purposely did not even gamble here -- I drove to Las Vegas for that, to deal w/ people who know how to run things. Will never stay there again.

Good Value. Took another visiters reccomendation and got the discount book from the Nevada Welcome Center located next door to the McDonalds in the parking lot of Primm. What a good deal. Got 2 for 1 buffets and 2 for 1 ride passes. Free hotdogs and beer were also included. (you need to be over 21 to get it and only one per person, but I see why) Was worth it. The roller coaster was alot of fun, even for someone who LOVES roller coasters. The log ride was so so.
The buffets were good. The breakfast buffet at Buffalo Bills and Whiskey Petes is good. The lunch buffet at Whiskey Petes is ok. Needs more variation. But since we got it 2 for 1, it was a GREAT deal. The McDonalds inside Whiskey Petes was very dirty. But it was late and there was only one guy working. I guess he could only do so much.
The casino was unusually smokey. Didn't win any money at all. The mall was ok. The childrens clothing discount store had good deals. The rooms are ok, but a good deal for the price. The air-conditioning was quiet in my room, unlike the following raters. I have stayed her more than once and never had a noisy air-conditioners. Why they didn't ask for another room is beyond me. Things break down, that's life. Our room had a plumbing problem and it was fixed within 20 mnutes. All I had to do was ask. The maintenance guy was really nice. He even changed our sons batteries in his game for us. (we didn't have a screwdriver)
Other than that, it's a very easy drive to the strip. 40 min max. I don't reccommend speeding. At the speedlimit, it's a very nice drive. We had to visit the strip every single day for a competition and it was extremely easy. Saving the 100+ dollars staying in Primm was well worth the drive. I got to spend my money on stuff I wanted instead of an empty room for most of the visit.

Paid $31 for a Saturday during NFR thru bookvegas.com, I did not expect much but received a lot more, rooms are Holiday Inn style, very clean, Beds were nice, large bathrooms, Down side-small TV, and for only a few $ more you can stay at the much nicer Buffalo Bill's -For the price though EXCELLANT

We just returned from a very positive experience at Whiskey Petes. Check in was slow, as always, they are sorely understaffed at the front desk. But once we got through that, we were pleasantly SURPRISED with how nice our room was. They are large enough for a family of 4 to be comfortable, and even have a picture window with window seats. The decor was better than an average hotel, simple, but nice enough. The bathroom counters are marble with nice light fixtures, and a stall shower big enough for 2. The pool is very nice, with rock caves, waterfalls, and an incredibly fun waterslide, and many lifeguards on staff...kept the kids happy all day! The dining is average, but not terrible. We paid 14.95 for our room at Vegas.com. The casino slots paid out great. As always, I have left there with more than I came with. (granted I play small). The monrail takes you to the other properties, where a bigger, better more well ventilated casino awaits you at Buffalo Bills, along with wonderful themed attraction rides, and cheap movie theatre to keep the kids busy when the pool is closed. There is also a welcome center and Outlet Mall on property for your enjoyment. My sister in law was staying at Ceasars, and her room was no nicer, with the exception of the whirlpool tub, and she had it for a deal at 199.99!!! I would suggest skipping the show HAIL HAIL ROCK IN ROLL though. Even with free tickets, it was an awful waste of time. This is a great property for the budget minded and funhearted!
