first time staying at this hotel. great staff, quick check-in. only 6 floors, beautiful room, spacious bathroom. rampart casino attached and gambling gods were great for machine players, not good at all for table games. great pool area, reasonable cabana rental rates and pool open from 8am to 8pm. one problem quickly handled by melissa(wonderful person). ate at spedini(very good) and starbucks on site, no wait at all. dealers very friendly, close to suncoast casino. will definitely stay here again. about a 20 minute drive to the strip which was perfect for us.

Date Visited: 08/07 - Bad Visit
I have stayed at the JW Marriott once before and the rooms are great. Now, I'm a local and visit the Rampart Casino from time to time. I'm not a fan of their machines. Their machines don't pay as much as Stations or Coast machines. My biggest issue is with the service at the Rampart. My wife and I wanted to visit the buffet since we had 2 free buffets and the cashier informed us that our free buffets were not good on specialty nights. But instead of just telling us, she had us read the tickets 3 times basically saying that we were stupid for not seeing it. Her tone and demeanor was not what you expect from a cashier or hostess. So we decided to eat at the Promenade Cafe. That was a HUGE mistake. The service is terrible. I've been in there twice before and had bad service but figured it was a bad night. This waitress disappeared for 10 minutes at a time. In fact I saw the busboy more than her. She meant well but she just kept us waiting with a 3 year old. Lastly, I go to check my points that I earned months ago. The night I earned them, the lady said that I earned $21.00 worth of points. I went to redeem them tonight and she said I have only $3.22 and that I cannot redeem them until I reach $5.00 or 500 points. The customer service at the Rampart is the WORST I've ever received in a casino. The casino is not kid friendly. There is NOTHING for your children to do there. You will be better off going to a Coast or Station property if you are a local or if you are staying off the strip. Unfortunately, no supervisor at the Rampart wanted to make this situation better for my wife and I so I will not only never go again but I will never recommend this casino to my worst enemy.

This is an outstanding resort and casino. My wife and I are former residents of Las Vegas and Summerlin. You can't find a more relaxing and rewarding place to stay. We have stayed there at least three times and enjoyed each visit. This resort has all the ambience of a five star location! We will be back!! Did not stay, but visied the casino (and the nearby Sun Coast) in July, 2005. This property is way off the beaten bath, so consider a closer hotel if this is your first trip to Vegas or if you want a convenient home base. The casino was small with a mediocre slot selection, but what they did have paid back regularly enough to keep you interested. They give you lots of great swag when you join the slot club. I enjoyed playing here, and would again if I am out that way, but I would probably not stay here as it is too far away.

We stayed three nights on the strip then moved to this location which is about twenty minutes from all of the action on Las Vegas Blvd. We thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of this location and the rooms and service were first class. The beds were very comfortable and the room large with a great bath and shower. I cannot believe the attention to detail that all of the employees demonstrated to us during our visit. They have a free shuttle that runs down to the Fashion Square Mall which is adjacent to Treasure Island and also have attendants that will run you to local restaurants in the Summerlin area. This is a resort property with a great spa and golf courses close by. We had a balcony with a great view of the mountains and received a free breakfast each morming of our visit. The Rampart Casino is not owned by the Marriott but is under the same roof as the hotel and there are $5.00 gaming tables. If you like to gamble and would like to relax this is the place to visit.

I have stayed at the JW Marriott several times. The rooms are excellent with bathrooms that have the jacuzzi tubs and the showers have the huge rain shower head. Note that this is more of a resort than a casino. A walk outside along the palm trees and running brooke was a great experience, as was the very large swimming pool. The casino is small compared to most. The location is in the Summerlin which was great for me as it is close to our Las Vegas office.
