- Bad Visit Room was decent sized and reasonably clean. However, someone removed the battery from the smoke detector and used a non-smoking room as a smoking one. Housekeeping sprayed extra deoderizer to mask the smell, but the smoke smell came on strong after the citrus smell wore off (around 8:00pm). ICK! Front desk was useless and not helpful in allowing a room change.
Food in buffet was average at best. This is typical cheap buffet food where you go for quantity and not quality. Nothing was better than average, with several dishes below average. Not expecting Bellagio quality, but this doesn't even measure up to a Golden Corral or Ryans. Service was marginal for drink refills, even when tipping each glass. Cheap food for cheapskates.
Casino slots were decent and drink service was above average. Better be playing hard and long before the wait staff even acknowledges your existence.
If you want a cheap place, this is it...room rates, food, service, etc.

- Bad Visit terrible terrible place to visit. the name fits the casino. this is the worse place in vegas to visit. its is crowded, smokey, hot and just plain nasty. i will never go back to this place. the cashers are rude. they must be cause the are all slow as all get out. i asked one for help and she just 'yelled at me" and told me that "it was my fault that the ticket out of the slot machine got stuck" and it was her fault becaue she did not put the paper in the machine right. if you want to go visit a small nasty place with rude people go to terriles but if you want a nice place go some where else.

- Good Visit Had a great time at Terribles. The staff was frieldly. Its location was good because of the CTA busses. The food was good and cheap or free with your player points. When we were getting ready to leave their shuttle bus was late to pick us up at the hotel so they brought around their SUV limo and gave us a ride to the airport in it. When we visit Las Vegas again we will stay at Terribles.

I have mixed feelings about Terribles. I came here for my 21st b-day and it was great. The service, the rooms, the slots...everything was good. I really enjoyed myself. I have gone back several times since then and it does seem that Terribles is going down hill. The food, the service, the many penny slots that they now have are such a nuisance. My last trip to Vegas we did not at Terribles, we diecided to stay on the strip, but we did go and eat at the Cafe at Terribles because we did enjoy there cafe, but this time the service was even worse than before, and our food was cold. I am going to give them one last chance, seeing as how we are going to LV in October and the strip hotels are too expensive due to conventions. So we will see how it is this time, I just hope that they have gotton into gear and started trekking back up hill. I'll let you all know.

- Good Visit You want glitz?
You can get plenty of that, and spend your gaming budget, all over the Strip..
What you will find at Terribles is a terrific value..
When I'm in Vegas, I need a place for my stuff..where the T-V works, the shower works, and the staff is o-k..these people remember my name..
Lots of locals here..which is cool..you'll see folks in their various hotel work garb, guys in suits at the bar..comfortable place..excellent drink service..
Rooms have coffee makers, T-Vs have 27 inch screens..maid service is good..

- Good Visit People often have ridiculous expectations regarding hotels. This is a three-story hotel in a good location between the airport and the Strip, right by a restaurant row on Paradise Road. The room was clean and nicely decorated, with a small bathroom being the only real drawback. Slot machines in the casino seemed to be fair, if not loose. Having a race and sports book in such a small property was a big plus. The Bougainvillea restaurant has low-priced specials, and I can vouch for the $4.99 chicken dinner. Didn't try the buffet. The gift shop staff were witty and pleasant folks, and I loved the Terrible Herbst Oil Company logo and theme. Very offbeat and anti-Las Vegas 21st Century glitz.

Stayed there 2 previous trips and was very happy with service rooms, value. This time it was horrible, a cot was left in the room from previous customer that I asked removed but it wasn't. Our keys didn't work in the workout room and our hotel room. We were on the first floor and the window wouldn't lock. It was like a smoke box in there it was horrible. We moved out before our stay was up. Casino is small and smokey. People at cash cage and front desk were rude. Only plus was restaurant upstairs. It was great food and people. My friend stayed there next week and there was incident where security had to draw guns because some hoochie was accusing some guy of sexual assault.
My friend said she is never staying there again.

We had stayed at this hotel many times in the past and loved it. Now, it has really gone down hill. The staff wasn't very friendly. We had a few complaints and left a message for the manager and even filled out a comment card complete with name, address and phone numbers. We never got a response!!! The cafe used to have great food and service. Now it takes forever to get your food and then your lucky if it is correct and hot. The wait staff acts like you are bothering them when you ask for anything extra. In fact, after you get your food you might not see them again. The entire building smells like smoke and hard to breathe in there. Very bad ventilation system. I think they just need to tear it down and build something new. I will never stay there again!!

- Bad Visit Well, the pool area was a definite plus, nice and relaxing. The store inside the hotel is cheap for drinks ,snacks and whatever needed toiletries. The hotel staff is very friendly and accomodating. The room though is not very comfortable to stay in. We felt itchy sleeping on their beds and we saw a couple of bugs crawling on the nasty looking carpet. Definitely not a place to bring your family. The rooms need a complete makeover.

- Good Visit I have stayed at Terribles twice. Both times I have had a good visit. The value is great for both the rooms and the food. If you get what you pay for & both times I paid around $50 per night, we certainly got $50 of value. The last time I visited vegas, I stayed on the strip. For the $$$ I would go back to Terribles 7 days a week. This is why I have booked a room there for this upcoming October. However, I do want to point out that during my last visit, my group stopped at Terrible for one last very late night meal before we left for the airport. It was horrible. The late night special's are a tradition and in the past a great meal but we ended up leaving not because of the food but the service. The waiter forgot about us and it's wasn't like the place was packed. It seems to be a trend with other ratings that the service is dropping off fast. In the end, everytime I visit vegas I get a rental car so all I look for is a clean, cheap, safe place to stay. I decent casino and good food is a plus. For $50 a night, this place is a deal. I am very interested to see this new additional with these "suites". Overall - I like the place.

- Bad Visit The name Terrible's comes nothing close to what this place actually is. For the rates and the location, I should have known I was in for one wild adventure.
I printed a copy of my reservations like any smart person would do and finally after a half an hour wait made it to the front desk. I told the lady my name and put the copy of the reservations on the desk. She quickly snapped at me asking why I had that. I explained just to have confirmation. She told me that they didn't have any confirmation what so ever of us making reservations. So instead of getting the online price we wanted, we had to pay an extra 30$ a night. We finally got our room key, which low and behold was the wrong key so back down to the front desk we go for another 30 minute wait. We finally got another room key, and made it to the room once again. When we opened the door a family was already in the room with 2 kids!!!!
We found a phone and quickly called the front desk and no one answered. I told my wife and kids to stay up here while I made it back down to the front desk. I told them i had an emergency, they told me to wait in line. After a 15 minute wait I was able to get a manager to follow me back up to the room. He saw the problem and was trying to explain to me that we didn't have any rooms left and didn't know how this could possibly happen. At this point I just wanted to get some sleep. Then out of nowhere, the manager had the nerve to ask us and the other family if we wouldn't mind sharing the room at a discounted price!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was an outrage. I demanded that we have a refund, they refused and didnt even help out to find another place to stay.
Not only does the staff suck, the place is horrible as well. If you like inhaling mass amounts of cigarette smoke, making your way through trashy floors, stained and sticky carpets, and have public restrooms that look like they should be in the middle of Harlem New York, then i suggest staying here.

- Bad Visit When we arrived we were told that the power would likely be turned off in our room from 6:30 in the morning until 5:00 in the evening due to remodeling. We told them that that was absolutely unacceptable. They were rude, argumentative, and showed no interest in any kind of customer service. We were finally given a room where we were assured the power would be uninterrupted but not until we convinced them that we would settle for nothing less. Without power we would not have had air conditioning, lights or tv. It was 102 degrees outside. The hotel is filthy and run down and extremely smoky. All of the rooms smelled even though they were supposedly non-smoking. We have stayed at numerous "economical" hotels around the country and have never had this kind of terrible experience. We will never stay there again and will warn all of our friends not to stay there either!

- Undecided We stayed at Terribles when it first opened up and had a wonderful experience. The food was once a pretty good value and comps were easy to come by. Comps are still easy to come by, but the value is now out the door. The rooms are getting pretty worn and run down. There was mold growing in the shower. The food was bad. Avoid the buffet at all costs. The pool was dirty by 3PM. Folks would just throw their pop cans into the pool. When we mentioned it to the staff they did nothing to clean up the pool. Sad how this place has gone downhill :(

- Good Visit We spent 18 days here in November of 2004. The rooms are a good size for the price and the maid service is very good. The rooms have coffee makers which is great for that early morning wake me up coffee.
There is a reasonable execise room which is free to guests.
The buffet is very good value for breakfast with the 2 for 1 coupons in the rooms. The made to order omelettes are very good. Didn't use it much for other meals so can't comment on that.
The pool area is very nice and there were plenty of towels available. Didn't use the pool, a bit too cool in November, but plenty of loungers for sunbathing and the hot tub was great.

- Undecided we stayed at terribles on our way back from the canyons for one night. had a very nice size room, the employees were all very helpful, the price was unbelievable and i even enjoyed the pool. the reason we choose terribles was the free airport shuttle, which we didn't even use. the only reason i won't be back is because the place stinks! it doesn't matter where you are; in the casino, a smoke-free room, the hallway, anywhere. if you breathe, you're smoking. wake up terribles; unless you're a lawyer, smoking is for losers! stop catering to people who lower the value of your establishment.

- Undecided Terribles is a great choice if you don't care about the glitz of the strip. If you aren't planning on spending your trip in the room then it is a great value.
The room was clean and the maid service was excellent, lots of towels, shampoo, lotion, and a coffee-maker in the room!! If you plan on reading bring your own
reading lamp as the lighting is aweful, 60 watt bulbs at the most.
The service at the cafe was slow and the food was sometimes good and other times cold. The bar staff all seem very unhappy and are also very slow to serve
you. This is a common problem throughout Las Vegas. Ive stayed at several of the Vegas hotels and good service is very difficult to find. Just remember that tipping is only required for good service. I usually don't have to spend much on tips in Vegas for this reason.
The pool at Terribles was very nice, not too crowded and plenty of chairs and towels. If you're looking for a clean very inexpensive place to stay in Vegas then Terribles is a good choice. You can easily spend 3 times as much for the same bad service and food at other Las Vegas hotels. I also highly reccomend renting a car. Parking is convenient and you would otherwise need to take a cab to other strip locations.

- Good Visit Even with reservations, they didn't have a smoking room. The desk clerk said to grab some ashtrays from the casino floor and make do. Our room was extra large since it was over a doorway. The parking was excellant and close, gambling wasn't too bad, and the food good. We would definitely stay again.

- Bad Visit When Terrible's opened about five years ago it was a welcome replacement to the old Continental Hotel at the same location which had become a filthy fleabag. Lamentably, Terrible's has degenerated into the same thing: An arrogant, money-sucking, anti-human venue with broken ice-machines, semi-fascist guards, rude clerks and confusing slots (they helped open the floodgate to "multiple denomination" slots and phony penny machines that now saturate Las Vegas by loading their new casino with them). Its sole reason for being, in my opinion, is to underwrite their quest for a trophy with an inscription that says they "won" the Baja 500 -- at any cost -- with the dough suckers leave there. On my last visit, I went into their Food Mart to cash in some points which I had accumulated on my "Player's Card." I encountered an on-the-job "training session" where the customer is the guinea pig for a new cashier. When I suggested that they train their employees on their own time, the manager became furious and told me that they were doing me a favor by redeeming the points I had earned and that if I didn't want to be a party to their on-the-job training, I should get lost. Being that my throat hurt from a badly prepared drink and my crotch itched from sleeping on their bed-bug infested mattresses, I did precisely that. Unfortunately, I had to fill up my tank at one of their "gasinos" to get out of town. (Terrible's runs a chain of gas stations-casinos where they drain the motorist out of what they didn't drop in the casino, then treat them to the worst, over-priced car wash this side of Tim-Buck-Two.) Terrible's is now a terrible example of nepotistic incompetence. Its founder must be turning over in his grave at what his offspring have wrought. This empire needs an infusion of non-Herbst blood.
