Station casinos went to revamped players card Promotion in early October, 2011.

By far Green Valley Ranch Video Poker machines have been the worst ever played machines since the new players club was introduced in Oct. 2011. I have been at GVR since the new card promo at least 6-7 times with horrible results.

I have heard that Green Valley Ranch is the worst paying Station casino in the whole group of station casinos.

It was better before the new card revamped system. Not the best, but was better prior to the new card. I believe that many of the locals are catching on to their little scam of having the tightest machines around.

It was even in the newspaper that stations would in effect loosen up the machines and have the players have a better edge than before.

I hit the new President card level a couple of weeks ago and at that level and above you are supposed to have a casino host. Well it has been a few weeks and I have heard nothing. nada. Just as well because the word is out that they tell you to use your points that you have in your account for comps.

A couple of years ago I was treated well with comped rooms, good meals and entertainment.

GVR is now one of the worst places to play Video poker in my opinion based on my several trips since early Oct. 2011.

We stopped there on Nov 1, 2011 for lunch and the place was scary empty! In my opinion it will be worse than ever if the payouts continue as tight as they are. It doen't take long before the regulars realize how crummy the machines are and they will simply move on to save on their loses. What a shame, GVR used to be a fun place.

I beleive they are just kind of shooting themselves in the foot................

This was our 3rd stay @ Green Valley. The staff is always great & we like the way Station Casino's handle

their players club. It's so convenient to just convert points to whatever you want to buy. The restaurants

are great. Hank's ranks right up there with the better strip steakhouses. The room is wonderful. The resort

fee people talk about includes amenities you may or may not use but we always knew about them up

front. Upgraded sports book is very nice. Another plus is it's quiet. You don't have the nonstop crowds

wandering through like on the strip. We will stay & play again. It's not cheap but it's a fine value.

We stayed on the 4th floor west wing for a couple of nights in mid June 2007. The room was impeccable. They had everything we needed. The entire hotel / casino were very well kept and luxurious. Service was outstanding at every level. Our group had a private Cabana which seems to be the way to go since the main pool seems a bit small. We only experienced one inconvenience at this hotel. We were right above (4th floor) the "Whiskey" night club and could hear the music thumping until about 2 or 3 in the morning. If you stay here and want a quiet night be sure to ask for the east tower.

One last thought: Some of these other comments are amusing. We booked the room a few months in advance via the website and our confirmation clearly stated the $19.99 daily resort fee. This fee gives you access to the spa / workout center which other hotels also charge for.

Also, regarding the slot payout, we did great here and actually left with some money. I'm not sure how you can rate a casino bad because you lost money. This is Vegas; some people win, but most lose. If you think GVR is tight try playing at some of the casino's on the strip.

My daughter and I looked forward to spending a few days at a convention held at Green Valley Ranch. My main concern is with the value of this hotel/casino. At check in, we were informed that we needed to pay in full for our 5 night stay, but then were told we must also make an extra deposit of $1,000.00 for "incidental" charges.(Rate of $200/day)I told them that I never charge anything to my room, I always pay cash. They finally agreed to only charge 2 days "incidental" for $400. The grounds and hotel are lovely, however, I didn't get a chance to use the pool until the last day I was there. I chose a comfortable lounge chair and just got situated when an employee came and asked me if I had reserved that spot for the day.(There were no postings anywhere) I replied that I didn't know that was necessary and she asked me to move. I found another spot on the other side of the pool and the same thing happened again. By this time, I was embarrassed and frustrated. I finally found a spot completely away from the pool and evidently I "belonged there". At least no one asked me to move. There was also an additional charge to my room rate of $19.99/day. I was not told about this beforehand and when I was checking out and saw it on my bill I questioned it. It was called a spa fee. I asked if that is what entitled me to paying $175 dollars for a 30 minute massage. They said it was a charge for use of the pool and other amenities and something about going to the front of the buffet line, etc. When I returned home, there were extra charges on my credit card and after calling the hotel 5 times, and receiving a recorded message each time in accounting, I decided to post this comment just to make myself feel a little better. I have stayed in some really luxurious upscale places in my life and always go on vacation with the idea of spending what is necessary for a pleasurable experience. I don't mind spending money, but I feel like this place is a real rip off. Definitely not worth what it cost.

Like alot of reviews, my wife & I wanted to stayed here because of the "image" the TV show projects. The joke was on us because after visiting this hotel, I would have thought the TV show was fiction. The staff was a horrible. The room charges never stop. The table games were packed. If not for that show, this place would be out of business with it's current staff running the show. I don;t mind spending my money in vegas but is a thank you too much to ask for in return? At this place, i guess so. Back to the Bellagio next trip. STAY AWAY for this place

December 18-23rd. Didn't stay in the hotel but wanted to come and see the place since it was on TV. I did gamble there quite a bit and had good luck at their craps tables. 3-4-5 times odds which are pretty normal for stip casinos. The one thing that did stick out to me was the friendlyness and helpfullness of every staff member I ran into. They were helpful and very attentive to us. I do agree with the comments below about the lack of gaming tables however. They seemed to want to keep guests waiting to gamble. When I couldn't find an open spot at the craps table I went to Fado's and had a Guiness and a lovely chat with the barmaid.

No comment on the hotel itself since we didn't stay there. The casino looks like any other Station casino just a bit bigger perhaps. The Guiness is fantastic!

Quick background – I am a regular player in Las Vegas with a $200 – 300 average risking $10,000 – 25,000 each trip; my wife and I had been staying at Bellagio in their penthouse suites before being lured to try Green Valley Ranch by Matt Sacca.

Our stay – suite was occupied by another guest who was not leaving and hotel was oversold, finally, after my prompting and many telephone calls to Matt’s assistant (she was not proactive enough to call me), we were put in a larger suite comparable to the penthouse suites at Bellagio at more than twice the price of our reserved suite. Matt agreed to comp the first night for our trouble. After speaking with a front desk manager, Amy, she comp’d the second night.

First night, maybe half of the tables were open and we could not find a single seat. People were hovering like vultures waiting for seats. Only option would have been to play in the high limit room, but leave my wife to watch as she does not play larger bets as I do. This happened twice during our stay.

At no time did we feel that we were treated properly. Matt and his assistant were notoriously absent and everything required phone calls and legwork by us. Front desk manager was supposed to call us back the second day after she discussed the issue with higher-ups, and when she hadn’t we stopped by the front desk at almost 3 PM where she informed us that “the day is not over yet”. Then I found out that they had overcharged my credit card by $950.

Left message with front desk on the second morning to have Ninya call me on my cell phone, but Amy came out and I believe that she intercepted the message. That afternoon, I left another message with the front desk for Ninya and she called and left a voicemail on our room phone – apparently she did not have my cell number; I wonder why! Ninya had left by the time I got the message.

Upon checkout, our car had not been arranged to take us to the airport even though we were told by Matt’s assistant that it would be the night before. Matt and his assistant were not on property, so I spoke to another host regarding comps. They tried to blow us off without any comps saying that our room had already been comp’d for 2 nights! The only manager on property that day was Amy and she spoke to Ninya who was supposedly coming into the hotel and Marilyn who is a director on the casino side who was also coming in, but both would arrive after we were schedule to depart. She took my cell phone number. Amy told me that nothing would be charged to my card. 3 days after our return, I never received any calls and found that more than $650 was charged to my card that same day.

Our general impression is that this is a beautiful hotel and casino. The dealers, pit bosses and waitresses were all VERY friendly. However, all of this is simply a pretty candy coating. There is not much in the way of substance. Service would be more appropriate for a 3 star hotel outside of Las Vegas. Walls, floors and ceilings are very thin. Slots are extremely tight. It does not seem to make sense to have half of the tables open with people waiting, but in the high limit room, have 3 dealers standing around doing nothing while 2 people play at one of the 4 tables.

I wouldn’t stay there again if someone paid me to. Your stay MIGHT go fine, but if you run into a problem, you can see what you can expect. I have read many bad reviews of this hotel where it was raised that one might have to be a higher player to get better service, as you can see, this hotel is an equal opportunity bad service provider.

We stayed on the 7th floor east wing for three nights. The room was impecible. They had everything we needed. I didn't touch the basket of snacks in the room ($5 for an average bag of M&Ms for example) and I didn't touch the alcholic beverages in the refrigerator (I can't imagine how much they cost!). The room was quiet and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was larger than we expected with a glass shower area and a tub. They had all the amenities that we needed. The casino was nicely set up pretty much similar to some of Station Casino's other nice properties, such as Sunset Station. Their slot machines seemed to pay out about the same as their other properties. Their craps table had a $5 minimum during most of the day, but went up to $10+ at night. There drink service was about average. They gave me access to their business center after midnight so I could print out my boarding passes even though it was "officially" closed. On the down side, they charged a $7 amenity fee per day which we really didn't take advantage of. I understand it will be $9 per day when we go back in November. Overall, it was a good experience.

When I arrived, the room I paid for was with a view to the Las Vegas Strip and the pool area. The rooms I received were a view to the parking garage. I called the front desk to inform them of this and they said there is nothing they can do now to call back tomorrow and to see what they can do. They gave no explanation why the room I had already paid for was not available. The following morning I discovered that there was a leak in the shower that caused the water to spill all over the bathroom. There were not enough towels to soak up all the water. I went downstairs to the lobby at about 11AM to see if the room I had paid for was available, the receptionist told me to comeback at 12PM. I then informed him about the leak, he said I ‘m not the first person that has told him about the leak and will call engineering. If I’m not the 1st person why wasn’t taken care of before? I comeback at noon and they give me two new rooms, I had reserved two rooms. I ask them to please make sure that the rooms stay under the credit cards they were under, because the person I came with gave her credit card to make sure all her charges including the room go to her. They said no problem.I go back to the room pack my bags to have the bell desk move my stuff. Everything was going fine until that Saturday Night , the suite next to me was having some sort of party. All the smoke in that room was going to my room because I had a connecting door. I had paid for a non-smoking room. The smell stayed until I checked out the following day. In addition to that, at different times of the evening there were people arguing outside of my door, making out, and being loud overall. I called the front desk, they said they will call security. Security came after the 2nd time I called which was 20 minutes after the 1st time. When they came they did nothing they told them to turn down the music and that’s all. The next day when I went to go check out, they told me I couldn’t get my bill because the person who checked me in along with the person who transferred me screwed my account up and it would take along time to straighten out my bill and would fax it to me as soon as they straighten it out. I then asked to speak to a manager about my whole ordeal there and he offered to give me a free night stay and would send me an apology letter. I have yet to receive that letter. As soon as I arrived at home I found out that the charges on both rooms were charged to me instead of splitting the charges with the other credit card like they promised they would. I usually travel to Las Vegas about 6-8 times a year. The reason I picked the Green Valley Ranch was because I am a big fan of the show. I saw how great it looked on TV and I wanted to see it for myself and for once get away form all the craziness in the strip. Nothing like this has ever happened to me on the Strip

Did not stay at GVR but visited for an evening in July, 2005. I enjoyed the casino. I found the service to be good and they had a good selection of slots. My main complaint was with the buffet. The wait to be seated was very long, and there seemed to be no reason for it. When we arrived at the buffet, the line was not very long and looking inside you could see that there were many tables open. However, for some reason, it took almost 45 minutes to be seated. This was just unacceptable. There were plenty of tables and there did not appear to be a shortage of staff. In fact I saw many hosts/hostesses and servers just standing around. By the time we got seated, the line behind us had grown to stretch out into the casino and was actually blocking the walkway. No explanation or apology for the wait was offered.

I would probably go back to the GVR, but will think twice about going to their buffet again.

First the good news, it's a beautiful property with a lovely pool area and spa. But that's it. The service was horrendous. Took three calls to housekeeping for an additional robe and a dryer that worked. A cig butt in a glass styed with us for two days. In one of the halways a credenza held several dirty glasses for the extent of our four day visit. You cannot get a cup of coffee before seven in the hotel, I got one at a bar in the casino at 6am one morning and was charged two dollars for it. Cocktails by the pool?? hope you are not too thirsty, 45 minute wait for two drinks. Hungry before 7am? Buffet opens at 8??? Seemed late to me, but I am an early riser. Your door keys never worked more than once so often you were schleping down to the desk at 4am for new keys. Also I felt there was something odd about the casino, something was missing, oh I know, the cheers of a jackpot hit of any kind. I never heard the familar "Yahoo" that you hear in other casinos, it was deathly silent. Video poker machines abound, mediocre selection of slots in my humble opinion. We found the spa staff and shuttle drivers to be the most warm and welcoming, other than that, we were very dissappointed in the whole experience, not up to par with service considering the stay was not inexpensive.. Going to WYNN next year, had a late night snack there and even the cup of tea was over the top.

I definitely gave Green Valley Ranch the benefit of the doubt.

I do like the place and would visit again, but only if I do not plan on asking for any assistance from the Casino Staff (i.e. Cocktail Waitresses, Cashiers). They both treated me and my entire group like we were less than them, and as if we did not tip them well. A. When the drinks are FREE, ANY tip is good. B. I tipped FIVE DOLLARS PER (poorly made) DRINK. And you know what the Cocktail Waitress says to me when I ask her "Why do you hardly come overe *here* to ask if I'd like a cocktail?" And the reply was "When you forget to tip me well I forget to bring you your drink." You should NOT get that kind of HORRIBLE treatment from ANYONE. Keep this in mind: I was gambling large amounts of money and tipping QUITE well, EVERY drink. I think the Green Valley Ranch would do MUCH better business with every age range and genre if they hired new Cocktail Waitresses and taught them how to treat people like human beings. I seriously felt belittled by more than 3 Cocktail Waitresses and 2 Cashiers.

Had to visit because of the television show. The real place is nothing like the tv series. It's an okay casino, looks like any other station casino (which it is) although the tv series seems to leave that out. The gambling is also about the same as most other places in Vegas. It's not gambling, it's a donation. Nice food court where we went for a Fatburger, unfortunately the food court Big Fat Deal is nowhere near as good as a "real" Fatburger.

Been there two times. My first time and my last time.

We stayed at Green Valley Ranch Oct 17-20 with high expectations and those were exceeded. We stay most often at Bellagio and Venetian and, in those things most important to us, GVR was as good or better than those places. The property is extremely attractive and the rooms just fine (would appreciate an easy chair in the room). The service was as friendly as any ever encountered and more so than most. The restaurants were just fine, with special commendation to the Pancake House and BullShrimp. The new District shopping area is excellent, with a fine mix of shops. Best of all, the casino is large and provides far better video poker (quality and quantity) than any on the strip. We also appreciate the absence of crowds that dominate most strip hotel casinos. Overall, it's significantly better than the Discovery Channel show American Casino had led us to expect. While needing a car is a disadvantage, that's a small one compared with the many pluses. We'll be back - many times.

Casino still has a few full pay vp though not as many as they used to and table games were ok but only a few tables open early. Minimums are lower than the strip properties, and all dealers were very friendly and fun. I did notice the craps odds have gone to 3/4/5 times where they were 10x just this past January so that is a little disturbing as well as the reduction in fpvp, hope they do not keep this trend going. Did not get to use pool due to weather but it is a gorgeous out there. Ate at China spice, ok meal nothing fancy, also tried breakfast and dinner buffet both were outstanding. Food court is excellent with Fatburger and viva salsa great value/food. Rooms are a little pricey but well worth it.

The casino has a lot of choices for the video poker player. The reasturants are a nice mix. The Italian is great. The Original Pankcake House is an old friend that never disappoints. Trophys is always good for a sandwich or dinner. The valet is good and protected. A movie center and arcade keeps the children out of the way and lets the adults enjoy themselfs. The size of the casino floor is very roomie. the hotel lobby is away from the casino floor so you have quiet and the child are not in the way.The buffet is as good as any, and better than most.A good visit and value.
