Aria Resort and Casino

Stayed at "Arie" for 2 nights. Very pretty, very nice, the interior decorator for the whole building did a great job, top notch. The rooms are a touch bigger than most of the good old standard deluxe Vegas rooms but not much. The rooms are very hi tech. Push a button to open or close the drapes and shades. Lying in bed push the good night button and it turns off all the lights and the TV. The desk in the room had every kind of computer connection, electronic device connection you could think of. The bathroom was a bathroom.

All the staff was very friendly. Guard 24/7 checking for room keys

The Restaurants are way over priced for my tastes, I read the menus. I ate 1 breakfast buffet in the building for $17.25 it was worth about $10.00. The Mirage breakfast buffet cost the same and is better.

They had shopping on the second floor (nothing special).

I saw the spa but kept walking past it.

There were 3 pools and 2 hot tubs. They were very nice, a modern oval design, lots of palm trees but are not as foliage friendly as the Mirage or Flamingo pool.

The casino. On a cab ride from the Mirage to Aria one night I mentioned to the driver the casino…. He cut me off in mid sentence and said “the casino is rough to play in if you know what you’re doing” I knew what he meant. There are constant shuffle machines at 98% of the black jack tables. I won’t go near those tables. I can’t even tell you what the table minimums were at these tables. For a more serious BJ player the $25.00 tables did not have very player friendly rules. I walked to a different hotel to play black jack. I do not play any other table games so I can not comment on them.

Want to play 25 cent video poker… poor pay scales… I took a pass. At the $1.00 VP Jacks or better machines I found some 9/5 pay scales. There was a bank of $1.00 progressive VP machines at 8/5

Lots of Slots, there were machines of all sizes shapes and dominations. I actually put a $20.00 in a quarter machine to kill some time. I killed very little time.

Walking the strip past “City Center” … The city planners that let City Center build the pedestrian bridges where they did, so people can walk over the main drive way entrance and exit should be fired.

The tram connects MC. Aria and big B… it’s a long, long, long walk from the tram station in the back of B to the front entrance.

In my opinion which does not count. I felt hotel is catering to the cool, hip, and trendy, 25 to 40 year old age group that has a lot of excess money to spend on a vacation. It is not for a serious gambler. It is not family friendly.

If you don't mind spending a lot of money for everything, it's a good, clean, very pretty, safe vacation hotel. I'll give the hotel 8.5 out of 10. The hotel gambling gets 3 out of 10.

The hotel and casino are beautiful. The dealers, security staff, bell, and valet staff are excellent, although valet pickup was a little slow at times. The technology in the rooms was fun but difficult to get to work properly - I was never able to get checkout to work. Even a Days Inn has that. There is a light system next to the door to alert housekeeping that the room is ready for servicing. Turned it on at 8:30 a.m. and the room was still untouched at 4:00 p.m. As a matter of fact during a six day stay they were only there once before 2:00 p.m. Dealers were friendly and I had a good time even while losing. Paytables on VP were terrible. The service in the Skybox was fair but $ 17 for an average burger was a little high. Buffet was excellent. Great staff and diverse selections. The service at the tables in Bar Moderno was non existant. Saw Viva Elvis since it is a Cirque production. Even though not everyone in our group is an Elvis fan everyone loved the production. Not a typical Cirque show, but it is high energy, fun, and entertaining from start to finish, and there is a bonus - you can understand the storyline.Worth seeing. Very good Fitness Center. On balance though, the Aria is not a good value. If you want something with first class service I'd recommend The Signature at MGM.

Elegant looking casino geared for the well heeled.Sensational rooms.Long walk from the parking lot to the hotel registration.Small sports book.Super over priced restaurants.Awful video poker unless you want to go into the high limit room.Tight slots.Nice swimming pool area.Clean and well ventilated. It is worth walking into the place just to see it but from a gambling stand point I would go elsewhere.

The rooms, although not particularly large, are beautiful and the technology make them fun. The staff was pleasent, however when we required assistance to locate plugins for our CPAP machines it took 2 hours before someone came to show us that they were behind the bed and access meant that the mattress and the box spring had to be moved. They then said someone would be back with extension cords but that never happened. Fortunately, our plugs just reached and we were able to put the mattress and box spring back in place ourselves.

The casino is extremely dark and is a graveyard for VP players. We found it a little uncomfortable to play in but all the staff we met were there to please.

The tram between Monte Carlo/Aria - Crystals - Bellagio is very convenient and a great way to move between these destinations. The only way to the strip from Aria is a long walk which is not convenient for those with disabilities or those of us advancing in age (not a problem yet). If you like walking (and I do) there are many sights to see through the whole complex without having to go outside.

Be prepared to have a hefty budget for food if you are going to eat at any of the restaurants.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at Aria but it is not our first choice for hotels on the strip.
